Hey, people old and new! I am making my obligatory every-six-months post! If anyone out there follows the Song of Ice and Fire series and/or has been watching the new Game of Thrones series on HBO, a few friends and I are doing a weekly podcast: http://www.darkwingsdorkwords.com SPOILER ALERT - most...

Re: School Shooting in Omaha

Went to the funeral today. Large church, and the place was packed - all rows, the balcony, extra chairs in the lobby...and in addition, the church is also a Catholic school, and in the gym just down the hall, it was packed full of students who showed up and watched the service via live feed on a scr...

Re: School Shooting in Omaha

Stroke of good news-- Although WB Church has been permitted to picket, the police dept has only given them permission to picket at a point 3 blocks away from the church - and this particular church is set up near such a hill and secluded area that the family won't even be able to see the picketers w...

School Shooting in Omaha

I don't know how many have seen this in the national news, yet, but this happened at my old highschool. The assistant principal who was shot and later died last night used to be one of my favorite English teachers, back in highschool. She was a very supporting and friendly person, and she really car...

Re: Ben Folds musical

He hasn't set all the songs yet for the future installments, so I'll definitely put a bug in his ear for that one. I also really want him to use "Smoke" b/c that's one of my favorite songs.

Re: Ben Folds musical

Yup. The songs in this particular installment of the trilogy include: Effington, Fred Jones pt. 2, Not the Same, Army, Brick, Still Fighting It, The Luckiest, Magic, You Don't Know Me, Zak and Sara, Wandering, Boxing and Evaporated. I have been told that my character will get to sing the ultimate fi...

Re: Here's Eric...

By the way, Becca, I'm so happy I'm now friends with the REAL you on fb. Instead of Fake Becca. I'm still friends with her, though - every now and then I say hi to her, and we reminisce about how mistaken fb identity brought total strangers together in a brief confusing moment.

Ben Folds musical

Thought I'd mention an interesting project I'm acting in currently... It's an original script, locally written by a friend of mine. And it's a musical using the music of Ben Folds, done in a cappella arrangements. So basically the chorus serves as the "orchestera" vocalizing all the accomp...

Seriously, I'm wondering if I'm becoming worse about disappearing than Rick?

Re: Review of Richard III

Honestly, I just sort of started from scratch for my approach. I had seen the movie version with Ian McKellan (which had a majorly butchered script in my opinion), but only used that as a frame of reference for understanding a basis of the character, really. But I drew my own characterization mainly...

Re: Review of Richard III

(ignores Jenner) Becca, yes, there was a hunch padded into my costume, and I basically stood a certain way and walked with a gait - there is a brace on my leg that looks like uncomfortable metal (it's actually leather) so I basically turn that leg out (opposite side of my body than the hunch) and sw...

Review of Richard III

Ok, I know I haven't posted in what seems like ages, and many of you have no idea who I am, but most of the regulars know me and know my exploits in acting...anyway, this is the largest, most demanding role I've ever played, and our review came out and I'm just kinda gushing, so here's the link: htt...

Re: Do I want to see "The Watchmen"?

Becca, This is coming from ME, so you may be getting a biased opinion here, regarding blue phalli...but at the same time, it's coming from ME, and you know how I am about quality of story/character/etc. I actually really liked it. It was very different and threw off a lot of the normal comic-book cr...

Song of the moment

Thought I'd create another "song in my head at the moment" thread, just for fun. Anyone can add to it. Oh also, hi everyone who doesn't know me. I'm an old member (actually an admin who doesn't do his job as an admin), and I pop up again every now and then. Anyway...here's what's in my hea...
