Re: Yay three-day weekend!
Sounds like a great weekend! Glad you got some time off. Walked through Muir Woods thinking of schemes to filter out all loud children from national parks, saw one or more whales which spouse managed to photograph, and had a couple of nice and very expensive meals. Care to share any of those picture...

Re: Lose 30 pounds by your next appointment with me....
I agree with the smaller meals a day and drinking lots of water. (You could add Crystal Light or other flavorings to help increase the water intake.) The best advice I can give is to read food labels and watch your sugar. It's quite scary how much sugar is in things you'd never expect, and simply sw...

Re: We need a new food thread...
Kizyr, that looks really tasty, especially the samosas! My fibro and its food restrictions have made me a lot more creative (and healthy) as a cook, as well as being good with leftovers. One of the easiest lunches is to take a piece of cold cooked sausage and slice it, add some steamed vegetables, a...

This is beautiful. Ruby was especially well done, and I love Lucia's kind of sassy pose after her time on Lunar. Congratulations on your fiftieth masterpiece!

I just bought Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way' and Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' for inspiration. If one can't find a path, forge your own.

Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played
Did Uematsu do the music for Mystic Quest? Old school or not, I still believe that is one of the very finest soundtracks in the series, especially the Lava Dome and Doom Castle tracks. I also love watching that guy play with the Black Mages on youtube, since it's easy to tell how much he loves his w...

So cute, especially the grumpy Tempest, cool Ghaleon at the top, and shy Mia. Can't wait to see the EB one!

Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played
I liked it, except for the fact that the last boss isn't who it should be. :| It's like, "Whelp, you just beat the main antagonist throughout the game... BUT WAIT! New super secret bonus boss!" ...Really? Actually, if you have the time, I'd recommend reading the 'plot analysis' on its Gam...

One of my friends suggested listening to the beautiful rhythms of Annbjørg Lien, a fantastically gifted fiddler. I love how she fuses Norwegian music with other world tunes, and played her song 'Old Larry' about three times on the ride home.

Have to ask- exactly how awesome was the scuba diving? (I've been snorkeling, but not scuba diving quite yet.) Did you get to see a lot of pretty fish and incredible coral formations?

Long-time nostalgia with this series. I remember my cousin playing the first on NES, my bro getting the second as a get-well gift sixteen years ago, and all the joys of IV.
One important question- does it carry on the tradition of delightfully terrible puns?

Oh, good. It was scary enough when they were talking about getting new voice actors, so it's great that they kept up the quality. (Note to self- start hunting for it online.)

I'm a little nervous about the changes as well, but am hoping that it will be more the puzzles than the combat. Non-turn based systems don't go as well for me. Me (playing Star Ocean 2, over 2/3 of the way through)- Darn it, how am I supposed to stop the bad guy from touching that switch? (Flips thr...

Re: The Wallpaper Thread
I have some lovely fantasy/seascape images I like to switch between, along with some Ecco wallpapers, but my current one is of Ian Wright from Globe Trekker. The guy cracks me up from getting his tail handed to him at a Venezuelan girls karate school, jamming on Mozart's piano, being a best man at a...
