Every Lunar game would work fine on the original Megadrive 3 button pad, so it's not a big deal. After a few hours of RPG playing I tend to forget about the pad I'm using completely, since the genre doesn't usually do anything to tire the fingers (those that do are stupid). The ultimate feature of a...

Anybody heard of a GameArts game on Saturn called Dinosaur Island (Daina Iran)? That game is superb! Even though it doesn't take long to finish, I used to play it on loop for ages, just because I was in awe of the animation. And yes, it would be a nice place to live, if a bit odd! I think I'd want ...

Last night I asked someone who works for UbiSoft to bug her bosses to make sure the game gets a release in Europe. Unfortunatley, she tends to forget things. I tried... Edit - night of the 30th of August - because it's not possible to reply to myself - The answer that came back is that Ubisoft simpl...

Are DS games really anywhere near 128MB in size though? Larger cart capacties still cost more to make. I guess 128MB isn't completely unlikely since memory prices are still falling, but some newer GBA releases are still on 4MB carts. With today's compression technologies it wouldn't be too difficult...

I really hope the microphone feature works well, since scrolling through menus for spells could be sped up nicely that way, and it would be in keeping with the Lunar games having a quick interface. I also don't want to get out the stylus whenever there's a battle, only to put it down again or have i...

ZP, I was kind of curious about Sigma Star Saga myself, but I don't know if it's a worthy purchase. I'm not sure if I'm prepared to trust reviews on this one. No-name, non-Nintendo GBA games always seem to get a bad deal. I also remember when Gargoyles Quest came out, another hybrid RPG/action game...

Re: Nintendo DS Price Drop just in time for Dragon Song
I read on RPGFan that the Nintendo DS will drop to $129.99, on August 21st. Interesting. That makes the DS cheaper in the US than anywhere else, and I still need one. Am I right in thinking that it's just the silver and blue ones available right now? I might pick up Sigma Star Saga on GBA at the sa...

I still find it funny that people say the music is much better on TSS than SSSC. I mean, I felt that the music on SSSC was really good. I guess the same is with songs with a bitrate of 92 and those of 320 I still don't notice a differance, or speakers, I still don't notice much of a differance betw...

If young people see you playing a game with bath scenes, and say "ewww" and call you a pervert, it'll be because they're winding you up. I don't think kids are so easily shocked, contrary to how the media treats them. Their memories of being bathed with assistance from a parent/guardian are more rec...

I don't know what the size of a Japanese phone screen is these days. My phone has a diagonal of only two inches, and the GG emulation isn't stretched to fill it, so there's a black border on all four sides making the display even smaller! The resulting image is probably just over a quarter of the si...

I can't remember what I played on first. Probably a BBC Micro in school.
My first system was a Sinclair Spectrum +2.
First console was a Sega Master System, and my first handheld was a GameBoy.

There are certainly hurdles. As well as translation, I suspect there may be legal issues I haven't considered regarding ports via emulation. But if it can be made to happen, it can also be applied to the previously mentioned Grandia Parallel Trippers, and any number of 8-bit handheld titles provided...

I just posted in the introductions thread about how I have Strolling School running on my phone. It works via a Master System/Game Gear emulator, full speed with sound. Would this be a way to do it? That is, contact Game Arts for the license, contact the emulator author about making the emulator's f...

I forgot all about that! Even with a pretty good connection in Japan I never did manage to get All the Lunar, and eventually forgot all about it. My only Lunar purchases in recent years would be the Japanese version of Lunar Legend (I can't say that I enjoyed this version much) and Strolling School....

Hi DragonmasterDan! So let's see, how have I been... Well, a couple of months ago I left the job I had back when I left RPGFan. I felt that there wasn't anything more to learn from it and there was no where to progress to (or prospects of a raise), so I'm now looking for work and have lots of free t...
