Re: *Important* If you're experiencing any glitches in Lunar:SSH
How long of a session had you been playing? There seems to be a few lock-up prone spots, and I've encountered two where the game seemed like it wanted to freeze when leaving a store in Reza, and one of the rooms in the Guild Mansion in Vane.

Re: Valkyria Chronicles...
I've only played the demo, and I could only imagine how much better the actual game is. G1, you might as well buy the game because you can get it super cheap. There is also DLC with added story elements and new maps. It would be amazing for the team to dream up Skies of Arcadia 2 for the PS3, but I'...

Re: GRANDIA PSOne Classic to be released on PSN tomorrow.
If I could play through Grandia in Japanese, then you should have no problem dealing with the second half of the game. It seems to take longer in the second half merely because of some of the more difficult dungeons. I don't know if they tweaked anything in the US release, but it took me a long time...

Re: Overly formal language is overly formal...
It seems to be the "invisible wall" case. It seems like there is more space for text but there actually isn't. All of the issues people are having with glitches are carried over from the Japanese release, and then new glitches appear because of the changes in the coding from Japanese to En...

Re: The reworked cutscene music
Aside from the US release, it gave Iwadare a chance to change things he wanted to after the Japanese release was already out. It's very rare you find a composer who aids in making changes to a localized game's music.

It's a design choice, as having a text box fill the whole span of the screen is going to take away from the rest of the image. Do you notice how the screen shrinks and expands (after the text is gone) any time there is character interaction and text appears? I assume this is an issue with GameArts u...

Re: *Important* If you're experiencing any glitches in Lunar:SSH
Yeah I've noticed words missing or word doubling among other things. With the insane amount of text you have to sort through mistakes usually happen in localizing. Being a very small company doesn't help with the editing process and things slip by.

Re: Siliconera Interview with Dobashi (mostly)
Dobashi feels that XSEED is the best partner for Game Arts because they had a much stronger relationship and collaboration with localizing the game here in the US. It bodes well for the series that the US once again seems to carry the stronger fanbase, and obviously there is more incentive for them ...

Re: So, the Orb Bangle ...
Another factor that comes into play here is XSEED purposely paying homage to WD's localization using certain character names and enemies. The problem is that while doing it for the fans it creates confusion when you find something that has changed, or is more true to the Japanese in translation. Peo...

Kizyr is right about space limitations for text. SSH on PSP has a restriction on text limits so certain alterations had to be made to get the same point across compared to the previous remake on a console.

Re: The reworked cutscene music
It would be interesting to see the comparisons and differences between the Japanese and the English releases for SSH. It would be easier to have the PSP connected to a tv or monitor, and then use a capture card. I still think it was very interesting that Iwadare himself made the alterations to the m...

Re: So, the Orb Bangle ...
Alun, thanks for clearing that up. I never played either Alundra game so I wouldn't have known otherwise. Here is the image, btw. He did state that the Lunar SSSC guide and the Alundra guide were the softcover versions, so that was my mistake on the Alundra guide.

Re: *Important* If you're experiencing any glitches in Lunar:SSH
Most of these glitches they seem to just let slide as the game functions normally after the battle. They just seem to be looking for game-breaking glitches at this point. Regardless any glitch should not be present, and it's really Game Arts problem as this stuff was carried over from the Japanese r...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII
The lack of leveling up normally also hinders your growth, and you pretty much have to farm CP (Crystarium Points) in order to gain new abilities, HP, spells, etc. It's much like the Sphere Grid from FFX in that sense, but if you max out your current Crystarium Stage you have to wait for another tie...

Re: So, the Orb Bangle ...
Off-topic, but didn't you tell me that Alundra wasn't released by Working Designs, Alunissage? I was just curious because I saw a picture under someones Working Designs collection, and there is a hardbound Alundra guide with the Working Designs logo on it. Unless they just happened to release the gu...

Re: So, the Orb Bangle ...
The guide is not accurate in a lot of places, because in the Wind Shrine it showed a chest in the guide that didn't appear in the game where it was supposed to be.

Your Mom better go make some money and rebuy it for you if you can't find it, or get it returned. I would freak out if anyone took my stuff.
