Re: FF XIII-2 Announced
I would hope that the purpose of this sequel is to put some of the stuff that wasn't running down hallways and was cut from the first game due to time pressure back into the game. I really liked the game that FFXIII wanted to be. Though I can't help wondering if it'll be like X-2 in the sens...

Re: FF XIII-2 Announced
Is this going to be anything like X-2 where the costumes at least get sluttier? In that case maybe I can just go straight to buying the artbook. KF If so, I hope it doesn't inspire inappropriate cosplay at conventions... Or to quote Drew Carey, "Please dress appropriate to your body size!"

Re: Really old school fandom
I was on the Lunar-L back in the day, but damned if I can remember anything about it but people losing their minds over the the SSS opening. I do remember spending a lot of time on your site, Lou. Waiting 30 mins for packed-to-the-gills pages of screenshots to load. Hehe, nice, and thanks...

Re: Really old school fandom
Damn... I had forgotten that you were on the Lunar-L way back when, Kizyr... Guess I'm going senile or something in my old age. :P In retrospect, I probably would've done things a lot differently if I were running it today -- but I was an immature 19 year old college kid back then. I also probably w...

Really old school fandom
Hopefully this is the right forum for this... Anyway, I was hanging out with a couple other "ancient ones" of online Lunar fandom, Nadia (yes, that Nadia if you know her) and Nicole (AKA Mia Ausa) and we talked a bit about Lunar: SSH and how the translator, John Sears, said he was a Lunar ...

Re: I'm gonna have to do a review on a book now
The only other Kindle books I've purchased so far are computer programming reference manuals and they do have diagrams and such.localflick wrote:Aside from the cover do any Kindle books have images? I wonder why they were removed.

Re: My review after completing the game
I play the same way, and I noticed the same thing, around the same time. Actually, for SSSC I would always spam Mia and Nash's spells during battle, since they soon gained tons of MP, and if I was careful about avoiding battles, I'd still have a surplus of power by the boss. In this game, I found m...

Re: My review after completing the game
Keep in mind that perhaps Ghaleon and the other bosses seemed like pushovers because you know Lunar in and out. Yes and no -- a lot of the stuff I knew about previous Lunars really didn't apply here. Enemies no longer had "tells" that indicate what spells they're going to use the next rou...

Re: My review after completing the game
I've still only played a very little of the English game, but have to completely disagree regarding Luna's voice -- to me it's not that its sass fit the character, it grafted sass that wasn't really there onto the character. In so doing, yes, it became obnoxiously generic. Aside from a little naggi...

My review after completing the game
So I completed it at about 11:00 or so last night... Anyway, this is a continuation of my first impressions, so everything I said there still applies here. First, I'll again start with commenting on the translation. While I don't remember too much of WD's SSC script (I only played through it once as...

Re: My first impressions
Oh, and on a completely unrelated side note, the issues with the Portuguese lyrics in Grandia are compounded by the Japanese accent and the fact that a lot of it just ... doesn't make sense. ^.^; A ton of it is just phrase sequencing (i.e. nascer do sol, palavras, milagre, agua pura) that runs on f...
