Two new Lunar: Dragon Song videos on IGN DS.

Post by Lupin the Third »

They seem to be a couple more battle sequences, judging from the thumbnails.

Enjoy.

As an aside, if anyone doesn't have QuickTime 7 yet, go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ and it will redirect you to the appropriate page depending on whether you're using Mac OS X or Windows.

The current Windows link points to a preview release.

Question: Why is it that in every single one of these videos, Jian attacks normally, Gabryel uses Gale Cut nonstop, and Lucia/Flora boost agility and heal? Is the magic really that limited? And I thought that Jian was supposed to be both a physical fighter and a wielder or powerful magics. At least, I think I recall reading that somewhere. Is that not the case? I've yet to see him use one special move. Likewise, I find it hard to believe that Gabryel only has one move. I don't want anything spoiled, but I would like an importer to comment on the abundance of magic.

Because they're doing the battles the same way to show how the magic spells look.

Lucia and Flora have a lot of healing and support magic. The beastmen only have one all-enemy attack. Jian's attacks are only the special Dragon Spells, for which he needs certain equipment to cast each one.

Part of the story is the fact that 1000 years before TSS, magic was a really uncommon thing. Only priests/priestesses who had healing magic, and beastmen who had some skills with attack magic, could really cast anything.

Spoiler for Dragon Song below:
The Vile Tribe were the first to experiment with black magic at all. Some humans have been studying magic as well, but it's still rare at this point.
KF

'Certian equipment', huh?

...My my my. That almost sounds like a spoiler to me...
Don't blame me, Lucia promised me lots of snuggles and cuddles if I would be her PR guy.

Ugh, that blows. The next Lunar game better be spilling over with magic spells, because I hate when the amount is so limited.

Not as much of a spoiler as you might think. Though I'm only far enough to have two of them.

Oh? Looks like Jian's getting gypped then, Hiro style.

Instead of the more traditional Alexian methods of getting such things.

Well, it's more a combination of the dragon crests in EB and the hero-only spells in TSS/SSSC. Unfortunately, you can only equip one at a time.

Yep. Old Jian's gettin' gypped. Compared to certain other heroes, anyway...
