Breaking Items

ARRGGGHH!!! Everytime I put somethin on Jian the next fight somethin breaks it. And, he doesnt have anythin when i go up against a boss. Anyone else come across this problem?
Restart the game. Save after every battle and then when a monster breaks something that you consider valuable...restart the game and chances are 9 times out of 10 going back into that battle, nothing will be broken.
