If they had a hawt chick (nudges Rego) demoing the item with several posses, I'd anti up the bid beyond $100 USD on the first bid.

I can't see that an animation series could have improved anything; there are too many versions of story bits for an animation to agree with it all and therefore it would feel wrong at least some of the time. Also, I don't like the idea of the story becoming noninteractive, although I would still like to read the novels if I could.
Female protagonists who don't need to be rescued would've improved things. Characters with realistic ages. Spells that weren't the same in four different games. An overworld map with both lots to explore and things to find when you do. Not changing the austere and remote temples of Althena into pseudo-Christian cathedrals, and not having references to angels, unless you count the Dragon Angels in the first game. Using the magic experience system in later games. Making spells more interesting instead of less so and fewer in later games. Making elemental weaknesses actually mean something. Restoring complexity to the dungeons and difficulty to the bosses. A game where the power of humanity is more or less irrelevant, and humans are only one race among many instead of the most important ones. A beastman Dragonmaster. A female Dragonmaster. A setting in which Althena is simply being a goddess supported by her Dragonmaster, so we can see what typical problems Dragonmasters need to resolve. A reasonable resolution of what exactly happened when the Vile Tribe were penned in the Frontier, i.e., one that does not contradict Althena's character. More about the heyday of the Mazoku, as suggested in the Vheen manga. More Akari Funato work. A release of Magic School on the GBA or DS, where it might appeal to younger females and give them an RPG to relate to.
I suppose that's it for now.

Games based off of animes are always HORRIBLE! The closest anime-to-game that is nearing greatness is Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir for PS2. The first one was fairly bad, but the second one fixed a lot of things including graphics and gameplay. The anime scenes are awesome with the authentic voice acting.

I agree. I mean, I like "save the girl" plots, but it'd be cool to have something different this time since we've already had two of those. I'd love love love to see a female Dragonmaster as well. As for the part about humanity not being central . . . well, I'm hoping that we'll get that in Dragon Song since they keep emphasizing the fact that beastmen rule the world with their might.MiaOne wrote:I second to what Aluin said. That would definitely improve Lunar a bit in my opinion. Although it is an amazing RPG as it is already.

But there where beastman and female Dragonmasters. Unless you mean, as the main character? Like instead of Alex being male, it would be Alexia, the female Dragonmaster!Alunissage wrote:A game where the power of humanity is more or less irrelevant, and humans are only one race among many instead of the most important ones. Yes, as a main character. And as one that we see, not just read about. And one, not two doing the job it takes one man to do. I hate that implication. And I don't recall any mention of a beastman Dragonmaster, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
And the female Dragonmaster, but one of many female dragonmasters.
By the way, I forgot to answer this before, but the reason I'm not considering DS to show humanity as not being central is that even though it's beastmen who are dominant then, clearly by Alex's time humans are. So the beastmen were diminished, and for all we know it may happen in this game. And the two main characters are humans. There have only been beastmen in supporting roles. Discrimination, I say!

Well, I was probably wrong about the beastman being a Dragonmaster bit, I've been known to assume things before. I'll look into it regardless, but there is still the fact that there was a beastman Dragonmaster and no-one mentioned them in the game.
Also, I was wrong about Dyne not being listed either, since Dyne was listed in his own book in Vane's libary, though it just says that he disappeared 15 years ago, nothing too specialish.

I agree
I would love to see a female Dragonmaster, but I wouldn't enjoy seeing one just to have a girl as the leading character - that kind of plot usually lends to some excessesive zeal (as in, "next we need a black Vul- ehr, I mean, Dragonmaster").
But I'm sure that, if we ever see a female Dragonmaster in the Lunar games, it will be a credible, well built character that fits perfectly the role of dragonmaster.
(Or someone is going to be shot.)

Re: I agree
There always was a Black Vulcan. Except he didn't want to be called Black Vulcan. Naw, he originally went by Supervolt. Black Vulcan was Aquaman's idea. So he said to him, "Why don't we just call you Whitefish?"
