I don't think there was a thread for this. I've had this book since 2001 and I thought I'd share some images from it with you guys. Though I'm not the best scanner and my scanner tends to throw tantrums on what it want's to scan of a page(is picks a section and scans that half or portion of the page so the art is cut off in some images.) :P I will scan more later right now this is what I scanned about 2 hours ago. So look for updates in this first post! ^.^ I won't scan everything though because of copyrights and what not so just some pages.

** The book contains more EB artwork then SSS**

These images are large!

EB:

Yeah, I really love this artbook! ^.^ It also features a lot of some character design ideas for Lucia (including where she has blond hair!), Luna, Jean, Leo & Mauri with horse bodies, Ghaleon, Zophar, Nash, Mia, Dyne.

Older versions of Luna, Alex, Mia, Jessica, and Ramus for when they wanted to include the original characters in the second game.

Then the official artworks from both games. As well as more detailed drawings in color of the dungeons, towns and boats.

Thank you so much for sharing these! I love the funny group pictures, and seeing the older Alex and Luna was pretty cool. Ruby looked absolutely adorable as a human, especially when angry.

It was no problem. ^^ I really love how they drew Ruby's human form. ^^ I can just picture her and Nall fighting in their human forms.

There's no SSS art in it at all. Only TSS :)

Anyway, it's a great book and a lot of nice concept art. I like it more than the SSS art book.

The Ruby art is awesome. I always wondered about that.

So many interesting ideas in there that didn't get used. Ghost sandship? Capital. The dude who drew all that stuff is amazing.

Sure though I won't be able to scan anything till late march. That's when I go on Spring break (which means I'll be able to grab the book from home, but then I don't have scanner till I come back from school)

Do you want more Work from EB or TSS?

I actually got the Lunar 2 artbook from my boyfriend as a Christmas present. I wish I could share, but my scanner isn't large enough for the full pages, and I'm wary about damaging the spine...

Personally, I love the height chart. No good scan, since it's too close to the spine, but I can at least share the data for the curious:
- 158 cm - Lemina (so short!)
- 160 cm - Nall
- 165 cm - Lucia
- 168 cm - Jean
- 170(?) cm - Hiro
- 173 cm - Mauri
- 180 cm - Borgan
- 183 cm - Ronfar
- 185 cm - Fake Althena
- 187 cm - Leo
- 195 cm - Lunn (HOLY COW)

I got an extra one to take apart, scan for my own reference, and put in a binder with page protectors so I could intersperse printouts of the translations Temzin and others have done here and see them in context. Haven't gotten around to doing it yet, though.

These pics are cool, I've actually never looked at most of the EB artwork. They did a good job of capturing Ruby's personality in her human form. Thanks for sharing!

Dedication! Most impressive. Let's see, what else was there...in another lifetime, didn't Rebecca Capowski translate the Q&A section in the back of the book (along with lots of other things, as I recall, though I have a memory of her internet presence having vanished like so many other good things from the fanpage-centric 1990's and early 2000's internet).

It's still around, though the byline is still fairly relevant:

"Everyone says, 'Is this thing still around?' "

Here it is, including some translations from the book.

Ha, and she's even posted new translations out of the Lunar I&II Setteishiryoushuu, outstanding! Unless those were just update dates, but all the same, it's more than I remember being there...! How nice to see a refuge of the Internet of Olde still around, artisanal html sites and all.

I would've loved to play with Nall and Ruby in human form with there offspring as the sidkick flying dragon in a lunar game. Nice artwork there thank you for sharing. The only thing I still have is a Ghaleon Puppet from the PS1 game. I prefer the more riskay stuff personally but theres a time and place for that and its not here.

I think I'm gonna try and get a few more scans from this book, so just wanted to to say to look forward to them.
Also I scanned some of the artwork from the Sega CD for Lunar Magic School. So I'm gonna toss them here as well. ^_^

Pardon me, but I was hoping someone here could help me despite the last post being some ~5 years ago. I have been searching high and low for a high resolution version of the picture below but have come up empty handed.

Image

Does anyone here know where I might obtain it? Perhaps at one point it might have been featured on this very page but since all the links are broken, I can not say for sure.

My scan of that page of the artbook is actually a bit higher resolution than the image you linked, but I don't have the right software on this computer to extract the page. Will try to get to it this weekend.
