It's interesting too. I don't know of any group of people who have maintained their culture and heritage as well as the Jews have for that long without really have a specific homeland. Granted, there have always been Jewish people living in modern-Israel, even over the past 2,000 years, but the majority lived all around the world, and continued their beliefs, traditions and culture much better than many other races and cultures that were scattered thousands of years ago. As far as I know, Hebrew is the only language to have ever been resurrected after having been considered a mostly dead language.

I don't care what color Jesus was - I'm just glad he came!

Odds are, the appearance of Jews 2000 years ago was probably fairly similar to that of Arabs living in the Middle East today, given that ancient Jews and their descendants and Arabs are essentially sibling ethnic groups, both based on their own beliefs (both groups believe they are descended from Abraham, albeit from different sons of Abraham) and their linguistic commonalities (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic are all closely-related languages in the Semetic language family).Kizyr wrote:Yeah, the appearance of Jews now greatly depends on where in the worldwide diaspora they're from. Israeli Jews are mostly folks who have moved in in the last century from different parts of the world--the country has a wide mixture, but a large number are Eastern European Jews (Poland, former USSR, etc.). KFGhaleonOne wrote:Not necessarily. Keep in mind, many Jews migrated from Israel when the Romans expelled them in 70AD. Many went to Europe and just returned last century. The color of their skin is likely considerably lighter than it was 2000 years ago.He was from Israel, so He probably looked like any other Israeli.
