Kiz, that is awesome!
If I ever get a smart phone, I plan on throwing a LCARs theme on it. Have you seen the touch screen computer that someone did with LCARs?

You mean the iPadd / iCars theme? (Not to be confused with the iCarly theme, which I already have.)
If I ever get an iPad or iPhone (which is unlikely), I'm definitely doing the same thing. KF

I've always gone to
Desktop Nexus for anime related wallpapers. Give them a try.

My wallpapers now rotate by the minute since I have so many. Here's one of them chosen at random.

Right now I'm using a map of Earthsea. Partly because I'm teaching the book in a writing class right now.

No, LCARs, unless they changed the name to go with the who "i" theme. That video is awesome, thats pretty much what I would do. However, the video I was referring to was a desktop touch screen computer mounted to the wall of their apartment/house.

I made a few updates to mine. I wrote a quick XML script that cycles through all the wallpapers in a certain folder, changing it every 12 hours. It's similar to my last setup, except I wanted to fill in the blank space in the lower-right with something:
- Screenshot.jpeg (64.48 KiB) Viewed 27068 times
That image changes to a different astronomy-related one each time the wallpaper changes. KF

That's pretty cool, I have to admit.

On Linux it can. Or more precisely, you can script the Linux wallpaper manager (depending on various technical details I won't get into here) to do funky stuff.

Windows 7 can do the same thing, but like every Microsoft OS, there's no real customization.

I use Ubuntu 10.10, which is totally free and which you can install on any computer (Mac, PC, scrounged from used parts, etc.)--you can also install it alongside another OS or trial it without affecting your computer. Hell I even managed to use it to recover some stuff from what I'd thought was a dead hard-drive.
But I don't recommend switching to it unless you have a good amount of time to start getting used to a new OS. It's fun (and I'm making a permanent switch, after trying it out for a while) but it takes getting used to. KF
