Downloadable Ringtones

Post by Silver Phoenix »

Happy Holidays people! Sorry I didn't pop in to give a pre-Christmas greeting.

I'm looking to download ringtones for my phone. I have Verizon and my phone is an LG VX6100. If I can get free ringtones that's great, or something at least cheap and good quality. Either good tones or actual songs would work. I tried doing a search for ringtones and didn't see anything trustworthy. It all looked like spam waiting to happen.

If anyone can lead me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Sorry that I'm not answering your question... but are Lunar ringtones available? I've always wanted to have one for my phone... well, when I finally get a cell that has that feature.

Btw, is your verizon phone usb compatible? My fiance just had his upgraded and all he needs now is to buy a cable and can upload sounds, MP3s etc directly to the phone.

Thanks! ^^

My phone has USB capability, but I don't want a full song as a ringtone. I haven't used it to connect to the pc at all and try to get sounds. They should be able to download directly into the phone like when I get text or picture messaging.

There are Lunar midis floating around that you should be able to use as ring tones. That's what I use, at least.

Seriously, is there anyone that can answer my question without going in every other direction?

...sorry I can't answer it either, but there's a GREAT application called Pix2Fone that lets you upload ANY image from your PC to your phone for free. (Except for net service charges). So I have Lunar wallpaper, and now you can too. I've been trying to find a good site of free ringtones myself, but they all look pretty shady.

Okay, I did some quick research on your phone. Looks like it's not BlueTooth enabled, which cuts back a little on what you can do with it.

On the other hand, if you can get a USB cable for your phone, you should be able to upload any free midis you find online as a ring tone. Depending on your phone, you may also be able to use mp3s as ring tones.

Just google for your favorite midis and you should find something good.

Just google for your favorite midis and you should find something good.

In fact, if you want Lunar MIDIs, feel free to take from the site. There's plenty, even though I haven't updated it in years.

:D WOW! Thanks GhaleonOne! I had no idea there was that many midi files on this site!

For those who don't want to put a whole MP3 song in the cellphone, just use an MP3 editor or an MP3 Trimmer for the job!

When using a usb cable for the phone do I need a special usb cable to fit my phone and then how do I upload the midis onto the phone? Sorry for my computer to phone ignorance but I've never gone about trying it.

Depends, but none of us can answer those questions better than your phone manuel. See, not all phones are alike, and thus not all require the same installation/usage/whatever. I know you posted what phone you have, but in honestly, none of us probably have the same phone ;). However, for a phone, I would imagine it would need to be a special USB cable (or Firewire, since they are smaller) to connect the PC to the phone. Also, if you connect a device that can have data transfered to it, then it should be as simple as click and drag the music. But, don't listen to me, I don't have such a phone :P
