Be certain nothing has nudity in it before you contribute it.
Keep your number of YTMND's between 5 and 10 so no single post is too overwhelming.

lol "I need to speak with your supervisor, the police are listening." "Okay, well I am the supervisor I can help." "NO ARGHGHERSESLKDJFHSEF." I couldn't listen anymore, but that was intresting.

The hotstuff one, in case anyone wnats to know, is from the movie Ladder 49 (not the song though ;) )

The Zophar one, I'm thinking the audio track was only accessable via Gameshark or other mean, as I recall there being a hint at a special audio bonus in one of the disks, only accessable via computer/gameshark. The hint is in the back of the EBC guide. I could be wrong, as I never heard the track before. :)

I loathe YTMND. I truly do. And I also don't like this borderline intolerance to Scientology that's circulating across the Internet. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest fan of Scientology. I really want to get a bumper sticker that says, "Xenu is my co-pilot." However, I don't like that people are automatically discounted because they belong to the church. I mean, yeah, Tom Cruise is crazy. But not all scientologist are pulling his stunts. I haven't seen Jason Lee chew out Matt Lauer.

How much do you really know about Scientology? The hilarity is astonishing. Why is it so easily discredited? How about because the man that started it said something along the lines of "if you want to become rich, start your own religion." or how about the fact that he used to write Sci-fi? How about the multitude of mysterious deaths that are certainly linked to it?

About as much as was covered in that episode of South Park.... not really. I know a bit more. I just don't like seeing religious intolerance. Sure, in my opinion they're a cult (and like all cults can be dangerous), but I feel we should still show tolerance to their members. We do have religious freedom in the United States after all.

We also have a right to crack jokes about anything we want.

Tolerance? hah! Nobody is out preaching tolerance to the OFFENDED rather than the offenders.

The motivation of offensive comedy is to get a colorful reaction from someone. If they'd chill out and act like it doesn't bother them then the fun would be drained from it.

Summary: If you want to live on this planet, you'll have to learn to deal with some obscenity and intolerance. As long as what you say or do isn't a direct means of hurting someone physically or in an EXTREME psychological way, do it without censoring self. Honesty may not always FEEL good but it certainly IS.

Regardless, This is a YTMND thread and I would greatly appreciate it if it didn't get derailed any futher. If you'd like to continue this debate, we can go the PM system.

Werefrog has more than a solid point with what he's saying. YTMND is a collection of mostly crap. Lots of it is quite offensive, and it should not fly here.

I'm allowing this thread around for now. But if one thing gets posted that evokes a complaint, I'm deleting it. KF

This is why i don't post links to YTMND's making light of rape, pedophilia or anything of that sort. I hope you won't delete it if someone complains with a highly debatable opinion and hyper-sensitivity from a logical rather than simply opinionated standpoint.

I wanted to outline two very important things with what I mentioned:

1) Just because it's a YTMND thread, not just anything off that website can be posted. So anything blatantly offensive will be removed. Anything with nudity of course is going to be removed immediately, but that was already established.

Benevolent, your previous post started sounding like you didn't have any hesitation with posting up stuff that was offensive, so I'd rather it be ironed out in the beginning. If you're curious, nothing here has come really close to being offensive yet (the Scientology one was rather matter-of-fact). So I don't have any reason to be worried; I'd just rather keep it that way.

2) Any criticism of YTMND is really fair game. Only something really offensive will get it taken down, so it'll take more than just a complaint. But very few of the regulars here are all "hyper-sensitive", so there's reason to take most complaints seriously.

My love of Back to the Future, Michael J. Fox, and Katamari all got rolled up into one link. KF

My favorites of the moment, made by a friend of mine. Rather juvenile, maybe, but... apt.

The McFly one rocks. :D

And so do the shorter LUNAR ones (I couldn't listen to the longer ones... modem issues.

Other than these, I'm fairly obsessed with the more tasteful Picard ones. Captain Picard is... well, he rocks.

Yes, you do have the right to "crack" jokes about it. You have the right to say whatever you want (should you? most often no). I thought the motiviation of all types of comedy was to make people laugh. I guess I was wrong... better change my material to reflect the real motivation. I know this by no means makes me an expert, but I have been at a couple of open-mike nights (where many of the regulars told me I was talented). At least I have enough courage to make my jokes in front of a live audience rather than posting something under a screen name with no fear of screwing up.

The picard part of that one is funny, due to the part that I have the song that is play "Captian Jean Luc Picard of the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE, Captain Jean Luc Picard of the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE." It's called "The Picard Song" (Go fig eh?) and the artist is called Dark Materia. -> http://tborgax.homepage.dk/audio.html

Captian planet, he's our hero, he's gonna take pollution down to zero.... I used to watch that as a kid :D.

Though by far I think the Darth Vader one where they put lion king in was funny as hell. (again :P http://starbeatacademy.ytmnd.com/ )

Though one thing I never understood is why people make jokes that something that was made a decade or two BEFORE something ripped that something off (time machine?)

B_G, can we stop with the Brian Peppers stuff. That's something that bothers me.
