Ladies (and some gents) I need some help here with my hair

Post by phyco126 »

Okay, it is haircut time (well past due actually, suprised I haven't been warned about it by my boss <_<; ) however I can't seem to find a good hairstyle that does seem to make me look like a rapist/stalker/pedophile/whatever. This is based off the comments of, well... several co-workers, family, and friends. Wow. So, I'm just gonna go ask you. :)

This is what my hair looks like now after I comb it.

This style is my latest style, and has recieved some fairly decent reviews.

The style seen in this photo has not gotten any bad reviews, but it isn't exactly something I can do because of work.

This is the style I have gone with for a fairly long while

http://www.phyco126.com/images/100_0662.JPG
This is the style that I have only done once, many years ago. This style also resulted in the threat that if I ever did it again, I would recieve a very painful beat down by several lady friends.

There are other styles I have messed with, but those are the major ones. So what do you think, it's too long right now. However, it seems typical styles that I have tried haven't gone over so well. I am open to any suggestions about any styles, but keep in mind that it has to be, you know, professional.

Heh, sorry. I'm used to forums that downsize the pictures automatically. ^^; My bad.

Monde Luna: Yes yes yes, but which one do you honestly believe is the best. One that, you know, won't make people run away screaming.

I'd go with this one:

But for work I actually like the 1st one.

Well, here are my thoughts on the various hairstyles.

1. You comb it roughly how I comb it, and it's okay, but it doesn't look as good as mine. The problem is that it is entirely too round and close to your head, because your hair isn't as thick as mine; combing sideways only seems to work well when it flares up, falls a little down, or does something else like that.

2. It works suitably well. I wouldn't be ashamed of rolling out of bed, taking a shower, and then going out with that coif.

3. Sharp. It reminds me of the way I've seen Eric's hair before. Very nice - and unlike the first picture, it has that swoop at top as it goes back, which makes it more efficient. It's a good hairstyle for work, or for anything sufficiently formal, I think.

4. Pretty good. I can see this as definitely being a "night on the town" kind of hair. It reminds me of Al Gore fresh out of the shower... and I'm not saying that in jest. He's hot that way.

5. It's about like a mixture of 1 and 2. Decent, but nothing to cry home about.

6. Dare I say, I like you bald. Not as good as some of the hair here though. And you'd need the facial hair, definitely.

HAH! Now that I have the name of that song, I shall go steal it! Erm, I mean, legally pay for it. *shifty eyes* I remember that song as a kid. It's got a good beat.

The spiky style seems to be the most popular in general. I mean, when you have a hot woman tell you how much she loves your hair, it must be good. That was years ago, and the last time I wore it like that was in the picture below.

Thanks for the comments so far, keep them coming!

AH! BALD?! No way. I adore the hell out of you, but my love only goes so far. I will find you and preform crop rotation on your head.

Honestly, I like how your hair looks all disheveled after a shower (numbah 2), and #3. It makes you look distinguished (#3 does, rather). If you do #3 and let the front part fall just a little in front of your forehead, it may look pretty nice. :) Just experiment!

Really, it all boils down to what makes you feel good about yourself; not what we think.

I hope this thread isn't a reaction to something I said. It should all be taken with a grain of salt, really.

OOOoooo. Gonna have to shave my head for sure now. I think you'll like Colorado Springs. ;)

Haha. In all seriousness, no, this isn't because of anything you said. :) Rather, this is because I really do need a haircut. My past choices have been... lackluster. They have also been the result of what mostly friends and co-workers describe as horrible and "it makes you look like some creepy rapist." <--- Yes, two seperate people I work with, at two seperate times, on the same day, before they talked to each other, said the same thing nearly word for word. That may also explain why some of the younger female clientale gives me worried dirty looks and rush by me. That or they are just always like that (I know a few who are).

So I figure, since I have to get a haircut this week anyway, why not let the general fashionists help? :)

Colorado seems to cold for me... Maybe during the summer (holy crap, which it is! Sweet.)

Okay, good. I genuinely felt like a total -Borgan- when I read this, haha. <_< Seriously, do what ever you want to do and it'll look fine. As long as you feel good with your haircut, that's what really matters, right?

(Crud. I should get a haircut, too... Oh well. At least I live in the gayborhood so they know how to make people look good!)

Awwwww. Sorry ^^; 'Twas not my intention, as I was planning on doing this post before you had said that. ;)

Colorado is too cold? Bah! At the coldest, it'll drop to about -17 degrees F in the dead of winter. Right now we are hitting the low to mid 90s, and while people are screaming how hot it is, I know what will be comming. August and early September... 98 - 101 degree temps. *shutter* I hate the heat.

Philadelphia made me freeze my rear end off due to the humitidy, even though it was 20 degrees warmer there when I visited. Colorado was still in the 30s. When I got back, it was 33 outside. I had a short sleeve shirt and shorts. I had my jacket with me, but I was too hot to wear that. XD

-17?! That's... yowza. I'll take my humidity, kthx.

It is pretty gross here, though... I need me some dry heat, so I'm actually saving up to move across the country eventually. In like, 2 years.

Yeah, but -17 isn't too bad. Chances are, you'll be sleeping in a warm house/apartment when it hits that low. Me, I'll be outside walking on my patrols. -17 only hits a few times I think, and that's at the dead of night when it's the coldest (usually between 4 and 6 am). I think the coldest it's been in the day was typically -2, 0, then around 17 or so.

If you want some dry heat, come here!

Yeah, Colorado isn't that bad. It gets a lot of snow in the mountains (though little ice up there on the roads surprisingly). Even in the mountains, the valleys can get into the 90s. Denver and the frontrange is pretty hot actually. 100s in the summer, like Phyco said. I've been there in March, with a blizzard going on, wind completely calm, about 40 degrees, in a t-shirt, and feeling great.

Yeah, as long as we don't have any real humidity, one can easily be adapted to the cold. Not uncommon for me to walk for 10 minutes in white-out conditions with windchill at -32 and actual temps at -15 to the bus stop in shorts and a light windbreaker. At work and at night though, it's a bit different. The wind is MUCH stronger where I work, and when doing outside patrols, one MUST wear insulated windbreaker gloves (thin leather gloves work great), a ski mask, covered by a heavy wool/cotten winter cap, a windbreaker underneath a heavy artic jacket, and minumum pants (as required by our contract, shorts keep me warmer actually.) Without those (minus the pants) one can easily get frost bite out there after spending an hour walking around after midnight but before 6 am. Except me, of course...

I could get by with just gloves and a ski mask to protect my ears and nose. XD XD XD

Screw that. I'm miserable with any temperature below 40 degrees.

My job is going to suck during the winter...
