Taiwanese Democratic Progressive Party President Tsai Ing-Wen was just reelected. I think she is an admirable leader and I am glad. Considering the ongoing Hong Kong protests, closer ties with China as advocated by the Kuomintang would only hurt Taiwanese freedoms.
