Yes, I know it took me long enough. But I refuse to pay for television when most channels still show commercials and I had about 100 other in front of it on Netflix.
Anyway, what an amazing show. It provides such an engaging and human portrayal of the streets (real or not, I can't say as I've thankfully never had to experience a life like that). There's virtually no character you can totally hate, even so far as a guy like Avon Barksdale, or any of the politicking police officers because they all have a human element to them. And I've only heard great things about the following 4 seasons.
If you haven't seen this show, get it ASAP. It's amazing.
So I just finished the first season of The Wire.

They said that on Saturday evening Arsenius used to turn his back to the setting sun and stretch out his hands towards heaven and pray until, at dawn on Sunday, the rising sun lit up his face, and then he sat down again.

Hmm...I don't think I'd like it. I don't like relative morality.
