Maiden over the Planet specifies that Aerith no longer feels romantic towards Zack. While they did indeed have a crush in the distant past, that was before Aerith ever met Cloud.

To summarize, Aerith thinks Zack is too fickle in his affections to have a real relationship with her. And she says that to him after the both of them are dead.

Ah okay... It's been quite some time since I've had anything to do with FFVII (not in a bad way I've just been more pre-occupied with other games.). Thanks for clearing that up. =)
