I find many of these quite catchy. I posted one, along with the link to the mp3 and the english translation, in the Song Of The Moment thread.

I like Megumi Hayashibara's stuff quite a bit as well. Which songs from which anime's are you most fond of and why?

Project A-ko has great songs, Vampire Hunter D has on musical score that I absolutely love (I believe it's D's departure, or something like that.)

However, I loved Outlaw Star's ending themes.

My favorite is the main theme to Neon Genesis Evangelion, “An Angel’s Cruel Thesis”.

Anything by Megumi Hayashibara is beautiful! The Slayers really turned me toward her music. I've also been fond of the Full Metal Alchemist themes, specifically from opeinings one, two, and four. Then there are animes like Cowboy Bebop and Noir who's intrumentals can't be beat (and Cowboy Bebop has some great vocal tracks as well, can't get enough of 'em!). I find that anime music is what drove me to like j-pop and j-rock as well... since I'm not sure I would have discovered some of these bands if not for my love of the anime music.

I think that song is actually "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" Yeah, it is. I'm sure of it.

songs from animes i like are

- All the songs from fullmetal alchemist XD

- 'Mirai' from galaxy angel (to be honest, i don't know if this is from GA, but i do know that one of the main charater's voice actress sings it)
- 'Midnight Blue' and 'Breeze' from slayers
- 'For Fruit's Basket' from Fruit's basket
- 'Go!' From Naruto

Actually, Breeze used to be my favorite anime song. I'm LOVING "catch you catch me" from Card Captor Sakura these days, though.

-Record of Lodoss War's (TV) opening: If I had to pick my favorite anime opening sequence, between the animation and music, it would be this one.

-The Slayers TV opening themes, + OVA ending, + a bunch a miccellaneous character themes.

-FMA, most of the music with the notable exception of motherland. Also, Bratja was definitely the nicest piece in that series, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

-Ghibli music. Not only does Jo Hisaishi (who composes most of their music) do background music that I'll buy the cd's to listen too, their movies also have really nice vocal pieces. I love Omohide Poro Poro's renditon of "The Rose" in Japanese, the ending theme in Laputa, and the catchy themes from Tanuki and the Yamadas.

-Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence: Again, something where I've bought the cd because the background music is gorgeous and interesting. The song played while Anthy and Utena are dancing is also lovely, and on here. (Yes, I am too lazy to go check my cd.)

-The Digimon character themes are really, really adorable, if not musically great.

Here are some of my favourites, anime followed by song title (The videos are spoiler intensive for some especially Gundam Seed's)

Fate/Stay Night - Disillusion. Why? I just love the singer's voice during the chorus and the song pretty easy on the ears.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=dyBz6MyUp8U
Elfen Lied - Lilium. Why? Just check the song for yourself and see if you like the Latin singing.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=9x_Pqp5LN8M
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Why? The song is composed especially for the anime and it speaks volumes about the anime by itself.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=z-VtaFaQk1g
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - Why or why not. Why? This one is also composed especially for the anime also narrates some of the mysteries of the anime
http://youtube.com/watch?v=z-VtaFaQk1g
Gundam Seed - Akatsuki no Kuruma Why? This song is not only awesome by default, but it was also cleverly inserted in many emotional scenes in the anime which in turn only amplifies the desired emotional impact of the scenes
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7tc3Fuaa4-k
Air TV - Aozora. Why? Also was played in the back ground in one of the most heart wrenching emotional scenes I ever saw on my computer. Very nice indeed.

"YUKI WO TSUBASA NI SHITE!!!"

I love Taichi's theme! ^_^ Well, his first one that is, I didn't get to hear his other ones, which really disappoints me. He is my favorite character. Do you by any chance have his songs? I'd love to hear them. People might be surprised to know that the Japanese Digimon music is amazing lol. That being said, I want to mention "Chou" ("Butterfly") The Japanese theme song for the first season, is awesome, and the piano version is gorgeous. :p

+ YUKI KAJIURA -- Her music is absolutely GORGEOUS, the .Hack soundtracks are my favorite! She also did the music for Noir and La Portrait de Petite Cossette. I really want to get the Cossette CD.

+ NOBUO UEMATSU -- I know he doesn't really fit in this category, but I still wanted to bring up the fantastic Advent Children soundtrack. "The Promised Land" is my favorite track. ^_^

+ TSUNEO IMAHORI -- LOVE the Trigun music! It's got a little bit of everything. "H.T." is the epitome of awesome and "Rakuen" ("Paradise") still gets me to tear up every now and then.

And I'm finding that I like Bleach's music too. "*~Asterisk~" is very catchy. :)

Ah! I forgot all about that, shame on me! Trigun's music was most awesome, I guess it kinda gets overshadowed by Cowboy Bebop's OST with me since I got into both animes at the same time. ^^* Still Trigun's music is very much worth having.

Oh, another Digimon fan? It's certainly been awhile! Well, once exams are over, I'll have a look through my music files and see which themes I have left, I know they can be quite difficult to find nowadays. Do you have the Digimon Shopping Carol? It's just adorable.

EDIT: Did you ever go by Pata's Pad by any chance? And do you happen to have any old Digimon fanart you'd be willing to share? I have quite a bit, and although I wouldn't want to post it anywhere (since most of the sites are down and I don't know where to put credit) I wouldn't mind sending a zip to you with the understanding that it won't be distributed.

...Actually, if you're interested in either, just add me on msn (onlyyesterday@hotmail.com) or email me, if you would. (sorafan@gmail.com)

Oh, Digimon.

Be sure to check into Yui Horie. She was Narusegawa Naru in Love Hina.

Egao No Mirai E is one of her "idol songs". Yakosoku is BEAUTIFUL, though. I can't imagine someone with a heart in their chest disliking it.

I'm with Agawa on the Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of a Heroic Knight intro. It was awesome. I enjoyed a lot of the music from that series and its OAV. Umm.. I like some of the music from Slam Dunk, pretty much everything from Miyazaki's animes, and Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed as well. Vampire Hunter D was great, Cowboy Bebop rules, and Armitage III kicked butt. I liked Love Hina, Tenchi, .Hack//Sign, Scrapped Princess, and Please Teacher too. Heck, I haven't run across anime music I didn't like since Akira. And that music was ok, but I wouldn't listen to it outside watching the movie.

I love the music in anime, it's half the enjoyment in my opinion. Here are a few of my favorites:
--------------------------------------------
Youhna - Houki Boshi, 3rd Bleach Ending Theme Song.

Sakamoto Ma'aya - Sora, Escaflowne: The Movie

TYPHOON24 - Tell Me Why, Berserk Opening Theme Song.

Kazuya Hirabayashi - Slip Out, One of many songs from BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

Every...single...song in Nerima Daikon Brothers.

Seriously, it's a musical anime, it's made by Shinichi Watanabe, it has Nabeshin in it. The anime wins and every song in it is pure brilliance.

This is an anime for anyone who loves America, puppies, and some other third thing.
