I doubt it, but I wonder if GungHo/GameArts will sue...

Boy chop shops become way fancy in the future, almost FFIX like.

It gave me more of a Howl's Moving Castle sort of vibe.
...also, eh, I'm definitely uninterested. But I got some friends who are looking forward to it. Who knows, could turn out to be weirdly fun, like Waterworld, or comically bad, like Waterworld. KF

I see where you're coming from, but Howl's Moving Castle had no giant laser cannon nor tank treads, the Grindery does.

I don't think the Grindery had laser guns. They used the magic/power of the dragons to use magic guns. Not lasers.

There's no reason why Althena's(TSS)/The Dragon's(remakes) Energy couldn't be converted into a laser while being processed in the Grindery's inner machinery. Until GameArts releases a full blueprint of the Grindery, I refuse to believe otherwise.

First off, Mortal Engines... doesn't seem to be doing so hot -- 28% on Rotten Tomatoes:

apparently some great world-building and effects, lousy everything else? Eh.

Second, new headcanon: Ghaleon really just wanted the Dragon Diamonds to help focus lasers for the Grindery. Keeping the Dragons was a way to make sure he controlled the only source of diamonds.

Wait, no, "LAZER", not "LASER":

Ok I'm reviving this because right now, for some reason, I really want to watch this movie.

I've been watching scattered clips and it's so over-the-top that it looks delightfully absurd. This would've been such a fun "it's bad but it's good" movie to have seen, were it not for $15 tickets of course.

...though apparently fans of the book series were seriously disappointed with how much content got axed only to make significant parts of the movie actually make no sense.
