This is a website where independent game designers come together and make games with two main rules: they have to make the game in a week or less, and they have to make something never before seen. One of the games is Tower of Goo which is being made into a PC and Wii game called World of Goo. They're even starting a clothing like promoting games like Flip Out and Gravity Head where you buy a shirt from Target and get a free CD with the game on it.
It makes me wonder what it would be like if game studios set aside a small budget and did experiments like this to see what could grow into innovative new projects. And we'd get a free game once a week.
This is another unique indie game experience: http://tale-of-tales.com/TheGraveyard/index.html. The idea was to evoke as much of an emotional response as a video game could. It wasn't the most exciting game play experience, but it was unlike anything I've ever played before, and kind of sad.

A week? Even a month isn't very long.
