I hope this is true!

I know some people are speculating that theyll announce theyre translating legend of heroes 6 that came out in japan for the psp some time ago. theyre pinning this game due to a hint dropped by one of their staff having to do with a falcom game and a 20 (i believe) character limit, as well as spinich somethingorother being a bizarre name for a boss, which there is in loh6.

id personally love for them to also do Zweii!! and the rest of falcoms catalogue, as well as the upcoming YsOAF (Ys3) and Zweii2.

I've been following this rumor for some time now and I really hope it's for real. I've been holding off on importing Ys 7 just in case it comes over.

Ys 7? Sweet, but what about Ys 3-5, not to mention Ys Origin?!
I'm glad someone released YsVI back on the PS2 and later on the PSP, but seriously, can we get to know this story just a little more before we jump ahead?!

When it comes to the Ys series, I've arrived at a state of, "I'll take what I can get."

It's weird. For a few years there, it seemed like everything was being localized. And now we're back to the point where even Tales games or Shining Force games don't all make it out of Japan.

Ys Oath in Felghana also came out for the Japanese psp. Between Chronicles, 7, and Oath it would be nice if something was localized (in addition to 7).

The psp port of Ys VI wasn't very good, but the ps2 version was fun. On the psp they made the font really tiny, the graphics weren't as good and it felt like a rushed port. I'm kind of hoping Atlus will take it on. They tend to put together nice fan packages with soundtracks etc... but considering they just released Ys I and II for DS it might depend on how well it sold.

Felghana PSP comes out in Japan on April 22nd. I've beaten the PC version and IMO, it's one of the greatest games ever created.

XSEED is supposed to announce a new title they are working on this week, but nobody really knows what it could be. Guess we'll hafta wait and see.

Maybe I'll actually try the Ys series now since several games will be release in English. Come to think of it...I might have Ys I and II on my Wii via Virtual Console. *checks* Okay, so I have Ys Book I and II on my Wii. I'm assuming that's the same thing as Ys I and II?

I wonder if I should just wait for the PSP remake or go ahead and try what I have on my Wii.

Yeah, it was the two games lumped together and then Turbo CD-ified. Kinda like what Sega did with Shining Force CD.

It's a nice history lesson, but you're probably better off waiting for the PSP version. Or, you could pick up the DS version which has been out in NA for some time now.

I've only played one of the Y's games for ps2. Since I never even heard of them before stumbling into one at a random gamestop while on vacation to california one year. Though I really liked it. Was a short game though. Maybe I should check out the others sometime. Even though I still have a huge list of other games I need to finish still. x_x

That was Ys 6, Ark of Na... whatever it's spelled. It was actually a "bad" port of the game. But if you enjoyed it it means these games will probably blow you away.

But for shortness... Ys I is super-short, and Ys II is kinda short. Haven't played 7 or Oath but I imagine they are much, much bigger.

Despite their being short, Ys I and II are still my favorites.

Having Y's III flashbacks on the snes now. Remember the debug code for that version too? And I think sammy made that version if I remember right. And the trick where you hold/rubberband down the B button I think for easy exp/max level.

Ugh, went to see what NeoGAF thought about this. The whole thread is filled with "LOL THEY'RE GONNA GO OUT OF BUSINESS".

They're using the "niche game" mentality. That no one will buy it because they don't know about it...

Mostly referring to Legend of Heroes, too. Which is a massive undertaking for a niche game.

But XSEED is smaller and probably doesn't need monstrously huge sales to have releases be considered successful.

It's also NeoGAF, and everything that entails... my opinion of that board has never been too high. So take what they say as you will...

But still, downers like that aren't helping! :x

I pretty much only go to Neogaf so for the news.....not the opinions. How would someone over at Gaf know XSEEDs financial situation?
