Done. Thanks for the tip. My Dragon Warrior slime-loving brother will be most pleased. :)

Seems as good a way as any to see what DQ's about -- I've never so much as seen a game played. Despite having DW 1 and DQ 5 and maybe 6 in the house. The slimes have always seemed so cheerful, though.

Same here actually, but DragonmasterDan says the game's look is what Lunar in 3D should be if they ever go that route, so I figure a free demo is worth it. And a free keychain is pretty awesome.

Does anyone actuallt have their demo and keychain yet? I ordered mine, but shortly there after realized that the game will most likely be available before I ever get my stuff in the mail.

My brother and I both got demos, but no keychains. I suspect they must have had a severe shortage of them. :P

Wow, I have to go down to EBGames. I wish I knew that they were giving out demos yesterday... I was right next to an EBGames. :(

Just got mine in the mail today as well, no keychain, but I just found out that the keychains are shipped seperately and likely won't come as quickly. At least, according to this from SquareEnix:

"Demo discs and slime figurines will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis, and while supplies last. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Slime figurines are packaged and shipped randomly. They come two to a box if they are small, one to a box if they are large. Shipments can only be made to U.S. and Canadian addresses."

I got my demo on Friday, but no keychain. I haven't checked the game out yet, and it will probably be a while until I get a chance to play.

Got my Demo today, but like most people I did not get my keychain. I was beginning to think they were coming late or not at all, but a friend of mine at another forum got his keychains. So I'm not sure what to think.

Finished the demo off in around 3 hours. Could have finished it sooner had I not felt the need to obsessively talk to all the NPCs constantly. I'll probably replay it again tomorrow. It's quite fun and got me excited for the actual game, whicih not many demos do for me.

Thanks for this. :P

See, I'm evil. I have no clue what this game is about, what system it's for, and to top it off, I barely have heard about it. I only did it for the keychain :P

You've never heard of the Dragon Quest/Warrior series...? Wow. Then again, it was never that big in the US.

No, I heard of it, but nothing more than an ad here, word of mouth there, etc etc etc... no biggie though :) Maybe when I get the Demo, as long as it's for the PC/PS2/Xbox/PSOne, I can be introduced to it :)

It's for the PS2. I could be wrong, but I think the Dragon Quest(Warrior) series is bigger in Japan than Final Fantasy. I know I've always liked them better. *hugs Dragon Warrior VII*

I'm so excited for this. D:

It seems to be one of those games that look better in motion.

But unlike most games that look better in motion, DQ8 looks great in screenshots too.

*Fingers crossed on my slime keychain(s)*

Heh, that reminds me. When ever I see a gaming magazine and see a new game, I'm like "whoa, this game is supposed to have ub3r graphics but the screens show it to be no more graphical than FFVII was." Then you get the game, and what do you know, the graphics end up being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what they show in the magazine. Darn them for lowering the quality of screens (not like they can help it I imagine.)
