PotC 2

Post by YoshiMars »

So I am going to see this movie to-night and I am really, really excited! I've already heard good things about it from friends who went to the midnight showing of it... thus to-day is Pirates Day!! I actually have a pre-movie party planned for all my friends who are going... call me a nerd but I do love to plan and host theme parties!

Anywho, I figured this thread would get started sooner or later, we can talk of the movie here... if anyone is interested! ^^

I'm considering going to it this evening. I'm not sure yet. Depends on if I can get some people together last minute. I'm excited about it. The first was good, and this one looks really good as well.

Looks okay, but I'm really not all that excited about it. It looks like they just threw a bunch of unwanted drama into it. :? I'll still go to see it, but not tonight, there'll be too many people.

Yeah, but at least the pirates plundered a town or two ;) Of course, having not seen this one I can't really say this one doesn't have plundering either.

Besides, I was only kidding around ;)

Oh yeah, I know. On another topic... how much does the movie resemble the Disney ride. I've never been able to go to a Disney theme park  .

Doesn't resemble the ride at all, aside from pirates liking rum and chasing around women. That's pretty much all the ride has.

Actually, it resembles the ride now. Disney rebuilt the PoTC ride, it now includes Jack Sparrow and the pirates are more life like and not all old and broken down. xD lol Apparently Johnny Depp went on the ride. x3

*gasp* Well, figures, things change so fast these days. I haven't been to Disney World (World IS Florida, right?) in over a decade. So the rides are probably very different, or something. (Not to mention last time I went there, there wasn't really any rollercoasters or anything close to thrill rides [except Space Mountain roller coaster])

World is in Florida. I've only been twice... but it didn't seem to change TOO much, of course my memory could be failing me. They built a whole new section at Universal Studios, I think before it was just rides like "King Kong" and whatnot, and then when I went back they had MIB and Twister, Jurassic Park... and I think the new section was called Adventure Island? I could be wrong, I think it was more of an rollercoaster/waterpark than the other.

I got to go to Epcot for the first time and a few other places it was pretty awesome. Unfortunately, it was before PotC.... which I'm gonna go see tomorrow. I can't help but love Jack Sparrow, maybe it's a fad now I dunno, but I just think he's awesome. I saw the first movie two or three times when if first came out... now that I have it on DVD I haven't watched it ^^; I was thinkin' maybe I should try to before seeing the second one....

Okie so living in Florida I can give you the theme park information you seek. :P

Adventure Island is a whole separate theme park to Universal Studios, it is quite a bit more roller-coaster heavy then Universal (which I do believe has a grand total of... none.)... kinda like Six Flags (for those of you who are more familiar with that).

Anyways... The move was AWESOME!! If you were a fan of the first (particularly of the action scenes) you will like this one! I'm still all giddy from it! 'Course I won't say much since I don't want to spoil it for people, but... waterwheel... that was soo cool!
Also there's a cute little extra following the credits. Nothing really to do with the plot, but it was cute.

Okay, no joke, when PoTC came out, I saw it 10 times in theaters over the summer. >__>; I liked it THAT much. Hopefully I will be able to restrain myself and not do that this year. It kinda wrecks the DVD hype. xD

As for the clip after the credits, they did that with the first Pirates too! :D It was the monkey. x3

No kidding? Me too. I do see myself seeing the new one again as well, it was really good. Not sure I'd say better than the first, but I would say nicely done! I can't wait for the third now... baaaad cliffhanger.

I've been to Disney World twice, MGM once, Epcot once, Universal Studios 4 or 5 times (or 6 or 7,) Cypriss Gardens more times that I can remember, Fun 'n Wheels once, Bok Towers several times, Ghost Hill (or whatever the name is) several times, and... whatever else. Very fun living in that state. However, I haven't been to most of those in the past decade.

Last time I was at Universal, they had recently finished the Jurassic Park part of it (never went on that ride, too scary for me at the time, but I did love the Earthquake ride, the Jaws ride, Terminator 3D was awesome, and my favorite was Back to the Future XD XD XD. Oh, and Fifle goes West water park part and ET ride was awesome)

In disney, my favorite ride was the Peter Pan ride :D

I saw it with my friends on Friday, all of us dressed as pirates. We smuggled white chocolate pirate M&Ms in as well, aaarrrr!

I really liked it, but I must say I didn't like it quite as much as the first one. My favorite part, by far, was the three way swordfight (and that's all I really have to say).

That's why I don't like it quite as much as the first.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Elizabeth making out with Jack Sparrow? Nooooooo... what about Will? Though, admittedly, it is a very piratey thing to do, if scandalous.

Ah! I saw this movie the second day it came out (I tried going on the first, but the theaters were too packed!), and I absolutely love it, and I also hate it, I hate how much I love it.

Gaahhh, this movie made me loathe Elizabeth soooo much, her character was okay and all, I just hated the things she did... 'I love Will!!!' 'No, nvm! I love Jack!' 'Psyche! I only did that to kill him! Tee-hee!' 'But it was for a good reason! I only did it so we could survive!' Whatever, Elizabeth.

Also, that ending was annoying, and now they're gonna get even more money from me, because now that I've seen this I HAVE to see PotC3.
