Interesting indeed.
Do you maybe know how is it with PAL SNES'? Can you play NA/Japanese games on it the same/similar way?

Sadly, PAL games/systems will not work in this way. This trick only works with the NTSC models I'm afraid...Sonix wrote:Interesting indeed.

Re: I made a gaming tutorial
My comment on Youtube was too long, and I couldn't post it. So, I'm putting it here.
Is it difficult to remove the tabs? I can't exactly tell what you removed in the video. I thought it was the two little plastic thingys behind the rom connector since it lines up with the back of the SNES cartages, but they look like they are still there in your video. Did you remove something from the inside of your SNES by opening it, or did you just remove something from inside the little flap where you insert the cartage? Also, can you still play SNES games if you remove the tab thingys, where ever they are? o_o
I may try to import some games in the future, so this is why I ask. Thanks for making the video. It's enlightening to know that I can do this, even if I am a little confused on what your removed.

Oh it's beyond easy. A pair of sewing scissors is what I used when I "modded" mine. KF

Re: I made a gaming tutorial
Removing the tabs can destablize games a little bit causing them to freeze more frequently.
Another method is to buy one of those hexnut screw driver heads, take the PCB out of an SFC game, buy a 1.00 sports game at goodwill, a used game store etc and then transfer the SFC PCB into the US cartridge casing.
This doesn't work for games that use the two far end tabs for expansion though, I ran into this problem with Tengai Makyou Zero. I wound up having to use StarFox (which has an expansion chip) as the casing since it has the two extra slots.
A game genie also works except for expansion chip games again.

Sounds too geeky? Then you'll really hate me for this then. When I was watching the video, your voice reminded me of the video reviews that professionals do (like bestbuy, cnet, etc) for products they sell, but always in terms of technology (such as motherboards, graphic cards, laptops, etc). However, yours sounded more professional and with less pauses, stutters, stumbles, and Uhs that many of them have.

Re: I made a gaming tutorial
Thanks, though the critique my sister and her roommate gave me for future videos is to write a script so that I don't "um" so much. XD

I can read from a script and still say 'um'. Seriously, there is always room for some um in my life.
