Dragon (Bleh) Z Moooovie
Just flush ten dollars down the toilet and have someone kick you in the balls. Or breasts. Both will hurt.
It will be the same experience as this movie.
(Not that me and my friends went because we were huge fans... We just went for the lawls. ...But no amount of laughter can bring my ten dollars back.)

That's why you wait for bad movies to come out on DVD. Or maybe you should wait until Rifftrax makes their commentary for the movie. Then, you can watch it once with their commentary, and once with your friends coming up with their own commentary.

Re: Dragon (Bleh) Z Moooovie
Well, maybe I should edit one of my previous statements... SOME of my friends were fans of the show, but a few of us had only seen it casually. I was outnumbered, which was why we saw it in the theaters. Still a fun experience, though, all suckage, plot holes, and bad acting aside. Apparently they're making two more movies...
There were only about 10 other people in the theater besides the 9 of us. And it was the night after opening. Sad.
If for nothing else, Phyco, do it for the lawlz.

Oh, I wasn't expecting Oscar-winning performances or anything, but I also wasn't expecting THAT. They just made a bad MOVIE. It was campy (which was fun), but there were so many plot-holes, it was anti-climactic, had very little character development... it was just bad. If they had gotten better writers, and a better director, it would have made a world of difference.LuciaOne wrote:I don't know what you mean, Maru. That movie was AWESOME!!!!

Also, the token black guy's name was Texas Battle. HOW AWESOME WAS THAT.

Re: Dragon (Bleh) Z Moooovie
It seems like I'm in the minority here... but I didn't think it was terrible. Pretty bad, but certainly no Ultra Violet *shudder*.... I think maybe Bulma was in character for the most part...sort of. I didn't care too much for the cast, but it could've been because I went into it with expectations so low I'm not sure they could even be expectations at all - haha
I had to see James Marsters as Piccolo too. How the mighty have fallen? :p

It's because it's Dragonball. You can't make magic from crap.

Re: Dragon (Bleh) Z Moooovie
honestly when i seen it .. it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be .. at first glance i thought i was totally gonna hate it being the huge db/dbz fan i am but i caved in when it hit the cheap movie theaters and it wasn't soo bad.. the fighting scenes were entertaining the story was only half way messed up but the girl who played chi chi made up for some of that for me so all in all it was ok for a movie

Re: Dragon (Bleh) Z Moooovie
First off, I think Dragonball ANYTHING is completely horrible.
My uncle is a fanatic and offered to take me. At this point, I haven't seen a movie in theaters since V For Vendetta. I've always thought DB/DBZ/DBGT was lazily done and just poor in quality all around.
I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, they could have given Bulma COMPLETELY blue hair rather than a strip and Goku could have been more Goku, but I expected something HORRENDOUS and it was nowhere near as bad as I figured it would be.
Yamcha was ALMOST PERFECTLY done.
Think about the Mario Bros movie. Did you expect to see Bob Hoskins run and jump for an hour and a half? If you did, you're stupid. They did what they could with what they had to work with. They included as many references as they could and worked hard. This was a thousand times better than the CRAP it could have been.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. The result was way better than what I expected.
