Anyone have any new year resolutions?

Post by ilovemyguitar »

I've got two semi-related resolutions. The first is to buy a keytar, learn to play it, and work it into my act. The second is to self-publish an album of some sort by the end of the year.

What about you guys? Anything you want to accomplish in 2010?

phyco126,
Here is a little unsolicited advice for you...It is usually a better idea to try and get one higher paying job rather than two jobs. I would only go for the two jobs if there is no other choice. I have done it before and it is no way to live.

My resolution is to only eat home cooked meals.

I'm done going out to eat regularly. And no more soda! Bleh, but I'm gonna have to keep alcohol, coffee, and tea. Mmmmm...tea...

I also plan to get into shape so I can run two miles in under 15 minutes. Those are realistic goals for me this next year.

Everything Kaiya said, including a good luck to Quark. I've never smoked (and never plan to), but my dad's tried to stop and has never succeeded either. Hopefully you can succeed in 2010!

But yeah, the plan is to get a job sometime between now and summer. It'll probably be summer since I really don't feel like juggling college and a job. Then once I get a solid job of some kind, I plan to find an apartment with my best friend. We've been planning this for a while. Hopefully we won't get too distracted from our studies together. ^^;

I've had two full time jobs before, and no, it isn't any fun. However, its fully doable. 1 full time job, 1 part time job, and schooling, should also give me enough money to work on resolution #4 - Buff up and #5 - Learn Martial Arts

1) Continue to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle
a) Eat more fruits and vegetables
b) Continue regular cardio
c) Become more apt at dealing with stress (maybe start daily meditation again)

2) Get back into stand-up comedy
a) Start writing once a week.
b) Get back into performing at the local club.
c) Perform at the Cincy Funniest Person Contest for the third year in a row
d) Find a new creative outlet if I can't get back into comedy.

I think that's good enough for now.

Become financially independent.

I'm a college student, living in a dorm. I tried getting a job; I applied all over town. It's tough...apparently no one wants to hire a college student with no real work experience and no non-family references. lol I didn't expect to get a ton of interviews, but I thought I would get at least one...ah well, looks like work-study is my only hope.
Some of the answers in this post are made of frozen lose with whipped failsauce topping and suck sprinkles......

As an update, I just wanted to say that I decided to pursue my New Years Resolution a bit early. As of today, I have officially been smoke-free for eight days. I think this time is it for me. I have tried quitting in the past, but have always lost my mind when I attempted it. For some reason, I am handling it much better this time. I guess I was ready. It also helps when you have a wife that can't stand your habit.

Rough night Sarah? Haha.

My "resolutions":

1) Do my first major photography show (and it's set up for February so it's happening already).
2) Go on another international trip to take more photography (catching a theme here?). Probably Thailand this time.
3) Finish my super secret project! (more on this in a month or so)

My resolution is still in its planning stages, but somewhat involves starting bowling again once I stop being so busy. I need something to keep me active anyway, and it may as well be something I'm good at.

Very. I went out with my boyfriend to his friend's place, drank two bottles of champagne, as well as all the cups from beer pong since my partner was our DD.

I felt functional only an hour ago, after eating lots of bread, downing enough water to slay Smaug, and taking two naps.

Super secret project, eh? This makes me twirl my mustache ever so thoughtfully.
