But do party and puzzle games make a console? Do they attract people, who generally don't play in groups to buy it? I would think not. Nintendo is too worried about pleasing everyone, that they are still ignoring. This is all supporting my point. Yeah, these games may be fun, but you don't go out a...

Every game has some form of a story, some reason the world in which it displays exists. It's where everything starts. It is the sould of a game. Story does make a game, for without it, the game has no reason, no point. Notice how I said "having story as an emphasis". There are party games, puzzle g...

I believe that there are a handful of different Links and each is an descendant of the Link in the Ocarina of Time. In Wind Waker it's explained that children who start to grow up on a certain birthday are given the green clothing and hat of the Hero of Time (TOOT Link) as tradition.

Gee. What a wonderful, colorful world you are painting the gaming world to be. Who cares if something doesn't have an ounce of creativity in it. As long as it's innovative and new, we will play it and love it because our unevolved minds must be challenged by innovative gameplay, because that is the...

Okay, again you have missed the point entirely by drowning us in hardware speak. I am not talking about graphics, control, or any other of that stuff. Cotent content content. All that stuff with does not amount to a hill of beans when it comes to creating a story, characters, or the content of a wo...

Roas: My argument is that new developments in hardware lead to new kinds of software. In the past decade only a handful of new genres of games have been released period. Sims style games, Music Games (and the old Sega CD "Make your Own video" games don't really count as this since it was just video ...

First off my apologies for the mispelling of your name, the font type on this message board is extremely dark over white and it can't be adjusted as a result sometimes things are a bit hard to read. [ 2- Comments on Innovation: re-read what I said....I'm not talking about innovation in terms of hard...

Rosas: To a large degree your complaints are based solely on the fact that realistic looking RPGs that are found in abudence on Sony's platform aren't on the Game Cube (and weren't found on the N64 due to the cartridge format). In that sense the problem isn't with Nintendo but with third party devel...

Thousand Arms by Red which was released in the US by Atlus is an interesting choice, it has a story and is a combination dating sim and RPG.

ToP's coming, though! The GBA version has been announced for US release. ^_^ Ys I and Ys II were released separately in the US on at least one system...Master System, I'm pretty sure. Rune can confirm since that's what she played. And I think I heard that just Ys I was released on NES, not sure. Ke...

I'm surprised Tales of Phantasia is so low. It's my favorite game after the Lunar series. Well, that's what I get for not voting. KF Likely due to the fact that it was never officially released for an English speaking audence, there is of course the translated rom of the Super Famicom version thoug...

To tell the truth I'm a bit surprised. I only see Xenogears up on the list once and it was a great game. I believe it received a couple of votes for game of the year back when it was released. From who? small RPG sites or Square related sites? Every seperate media outlet has their own "Game of the ...

Re: Quick Questions about choices

Rune: What about the arcade version of Cadash? And yes the Genesis version does suck, my knock on the TG16 one is that you can't save (damn HuCards). Yeah, saving would have been the best, but alas. That was my favorite action adventure game of its era though. I spent many an afternoon going throug...

I'd recommend hunting down the Sega CD games, they really are a lot better than the remakes, this is particularly evident of Lunar: The Silver Star compared to its remakes. With EB it's close to even, each version has its ups and downs.

Speaking of Meteos it's fun but a version of Panel DePon (Tetris Attack) is coming out for DS this Winter. It's a much better puzzle game.
