Re: Playing Through the Saturn Version for the First Time
Oof I really hope you are recovering ok! And that the new house / move has gone well. I'm still mildly curious if Working Designs was really working on the Saturn release as long as they implied -- in other words if they decided to pivot to Playstation and saw the writing on the wall long before th...

Thanks, I downloaded it a couple days ago. I'll need to see which version of the disc I have and try the patch.Mr_conan wrote:Cross posting here, public beta is available for testing for SSS (Non-mpeg edition). https://segaxtreme.net/threads/translat ... ost-177952

Re: Sakura Taisen for Saturn English patch
I played up till the first save point (which is too far in for my tastes), honestly I don't think it's worth the hype. I thought it was more of an SRPG, but it feels like a dating VN, where many of the dialogue options seem to be prompts where choices earn/lose affection with various heroines. The ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I, too, have rampaged a village. Right now I've mostly been playing Dragon Quest XI S. Even though I already played it last year, 68I find the game engrossing to replay. The faster battle speed option helps reduce the repetition. Meanwhile, they have added a few character-focused episodes to this v...

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
Square-Enix has become known for shoddy ports, yes, but Lunar is owned by Gungho/GameArts so that won't be an issue. Going by Grandia II on Steam, it had a few bugs, but nothing terrible. Off the top of my head, one achievement wouldn't sync after I know I cleared it, it would very rarely crash(I b...

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
There's no reason (other than legal issues) why there shouldn't be a Lunar HD collection. It should include both games son SCD and PS1, and the L1 remake on PSP to make many people happy as possible. Also don't stop with Switch, I'd rather buy it on it Steam. I agree that Lunar 1 on SCD is best, but...

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
Well I've had both of those games over 20 years. With that said, I also think The Silver Star for Sega CD not the Playstation remake is the superior version of the game for a whole variety of reasons. If someone wanted to say for example buy either game, it's very easy to buy the game. Play through ...

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
Right but even then your suggested versions aren't the best possible versions for people to play. So it's not just technical issues or emulation challenges that bother me about it.

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
Not really, First off the remake versions of Lunar are to me, not the superior releases. Furthermore looking at the sound problems, and other issues plaguing the Grandia remake why would I want to play or even worst have people without exposure to the series play a buggy sloppy port and develop a ne...

I've been watching The Rising of the Shield Hero on crunchyroll. It's entertaining though a little cliched.

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]
Are you planning on any work outside of LUNAR for the Sega Saturn? [*] Grandia - I'm not the first person to look at this one, and I've been told it's a total pain technically, so I might not have any luck. The text has a superficial similarity to MSL - it uses the same font as MSL and Lunar: EB fo...

Dragon Force II
With a fan translation patch having been available for a little while that translates all the menus and bits and pieces of dialogue I've finally had a chance to play through Dragon Force II. The game isn't the disappointment I thought it was initially after having played it many years ago, I'm sure ...

Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water
After many years and many people recommending I watch this, I finally saw the whole series of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water . And I was quite, quite impressed. I subsequently watched the movie tied to the series, which didn't add anything. But I was wondering who else here has seen this series? Th...
