Gotta love Betteridge's law of headlines: "Any headline which ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

Basically, a) deliberate homages happen all the time Non-deliberate musical quotations (as it wouldn't really be an homage if it wasn't deliberate) happen as well. I'm an amateur composer from time to time and I find a lot of my music either isn't so good or sounds quite a lot like an existing piec...

And yep, inertial dampeners are still science-fiction, as far as I know, just like artificial gravity. But I think we'll need to find ways to control gravity if we're to develop that sort of technology for high-end inertial dampeners. The Ender series talks about that briefly. Once you have control...

http://www.the-magicbox.com/Chart-USPlatinum.shtml SSSC - 223k EBC - 170k For as much as SSSC, EBC deserves a great deal of credit. Sequels rarely outsell the first game, and considering it was released much later in the PSOne's life, that's a good figure. Both held their own quite well. Better mar...

No, it really would tear you apart. Think how many G's you'd be pulling at that high a speed. The only way around it would be to create artificial gravity to pull the opposite direction. That would be the idea behind inertial dampeners at that kind of speed--they'd do just what they sound like, dam...

Going the speed of light wouldn't tear you apart. If you are going through space, there is no friction and nothing there to tear you apart. Given, if you were going the speed of light through a star system, you'd be screwed. But going through empty space, there just isn't anything that could tear yo...

That's pretty shoddy. 1) You should have been able to register online and pay online or later. If they don't like paypal or some other provider, TOUGH. Welcome to the real world. Every company on the whole friggin planet has to pay fees for every single credit card transaction. Deal with it. 2) Char...

Movies are pop culture. And switching to texas hold em isn't exactly cramming pop culture down your throat. It would be more like that if they were pushing the texas hold em championships or something like that in the movie. Switching the games is simply switching to somebody more people will recogn...
