Re: Poker Face
SSH also had really nice city/dungeon graphics, with neat details like different towns having different interior decor. Really a shame the sprites were kind of oversized for the backgrounds. An interesting point about the I+II artbook drawing. I did glance at it before posting but for some reason on...

Re: Poker Face
That's interestingly different. Nice touch with the card backs. A little odd giving her Lucia's pendant rather than the simpler one she's wearing in the artwork. I, uh, do recommend you work a bit on the breast lines. It looks like you were using the SSH portraits for your reference and they're a li...

Re: Do you guys ever feel weird shopping for video games?
Lots of short (?) thoughts here. - I came to console gaming late (meaning, college-age) and even then it took me a few years to really grasp that you could go to game stores . I mean, every game I'd played before then had belonged to a friend and tended to just kind of...show up? I had a housemate w...

I couldn't really warm up to the idea of Chrono Cross, but I'll probably give it another try.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I liked Mystic Quest well enough as a starter RPG. I think it gets a lot of flack for not being something it wasn't trying to be anyway.
I've been playing TSS, very very slowly.

Re: Cool image of Alex training (Toshiyuki Kubooka)
It is in fact in one of my magazines--the same one that was scanned for this: http://lunar-net.com/tss/artwork-media-specials.php Specifically, page 2 of "The Snake Ring": http://lunar-net.com/tss/artwork/specials/magazines-tss-mdfan199208-p068-e.jpg There are a few other pictures in that ...

Re: Lucia 2022 painting
Nice job. Angelalex needs to see this. I agree, her hair is a bit short, but given her pose we wouldn't see most of it so maybe it's not that strange.

Re: Cool image of Alex training (Toshiyuki Kubooka)
I'll have to look and see! But won't be able to for a bit because I am very busy at work right now. It does look like TSS-era, given the monument in the background.

Re: TSS text fun
I've done a bit more playing and transcribing in Japanese, up to just before Ramus leaves the party. (I know, that's not very far, but it's still several hundred screenshots.) As Kizyr and Temzin have noted, for the most part the translation is very direct, and as far as I can tell most of the NPCs ...

Re: Douga Sketches Used in the Manuals
If it helps, the person who picked them up really appreciates them and would've paid a lot more. Though I don't seem to have entered it into my collection spreadsheet, so I don't have a record in front of me of how much I paid. Actually, I thought I posted pics of them before, but maybe not. I think...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I was really surprised by how much I liked the remake, including the voices. Aerith's bugged me a little at first but as she eased into the group her voice started sounding more natural. Also...I had the feeling that her character couldn't lie, or at least was really bad at it? It seemed like she di...

Re: Cool image of Alex training (Toshiyuki Kubooka)
I know I've seen this one but I am having a heck of a time remembering where. One of the artbooks seems most likely. Still, I don't think I'd seen a nice electronic version of it, so thanks!

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Well it's something that's going to bug you until the end of time then, because that's how video games are now. If it really bugs you, then you're letting something bug you that's outside of your control. Dude, I'm not an idiot. I've noticed that "that's how video games are now." And I'm ...

"I popped in Xenosaga 2 and I couldn't sit through chaos and Canaan talking in the opening intro. 😛 Sometimes I prefer text with no voice acting..." I mean....I don't even know what to say to that, lol. Your loss I guess (^^;;) Unless the voice acting is really absolutely perfect (in my m...

G1! How have you been? What art??? (This also doesn't even get into how environmentally wasteful cryptocurrencies are -- the energy burn on mining and transactions basically eliminates the last decade of progress on wind/solar. The sooner they're done with as the scam they are, the better for everyo...

Re: Playing Through the Saturn Version for the First Time
By "such a change" you mean Nash being an informant the whole time as opposed to just at the end? I'm confused since you then mentioned a portrait swap. There are certainly lots of places where WD changed the portraits but they generally aren't major scenes, just a face more appropriate fo...
