I think jay_are said it best. Getting the emotions going while enjoying a book or whatever can be a good experience.

Agreed. One thing I'd love for RPGs in general to do if either make the Status Effect Spells matter or just eject them to save on space.

Re: Are Lunar 1 and 2 (PS1) actually difficult RPGs?

I'd be fine with a lot more games using ToS's system, myself. It was simple, easy to remember and use, and loads of fun. It also made a lot of hits you took YOUR fault instead of random numbers being to blame.

Re: New Star Wars

The latest teaser trailer doesn't look too bad! :) C'mon, who didn't get warm fuzzies at the end seeing Harrison Ford standing next to Chewie like that?? lol! Although, I wish they would've added some gray hairs to Chewbacca as well... unless Wookiees age significantly slower than humans do? :) EDI...

Very true. I never owned one, and I do not regret that fact.

"Walking School"

This has always struck me as a very odd title. Anyone know why they went with it?

Re: Last Anime?

Thanks. I posted this after a very long argument over the ups and downs of Dubs and Subs. Personally, I'm all for the visual aspect of visual media. I like books, but not do not like to read the programs I'm supposed to be watching . Subs might stick closer to the original point, but I just don't en...

You're really not missing much. Play the other Lunar games.

Re: Finally beat it.

I don't mind open-ended story-telling, myself, that requires the reader/watcher/player to work some things out themselves. However, this is hardly clever, intriguing story-telling here. The old Lunar games did a much better job of leaving around vague details that are interesting to flesh out in you...

Re: Finally beat it.

Alunis and Sonic both make very interesting observations about the Frontier and its place in Lunar history. It would be very interesting to see handled it in the series. Too bad Lunar: DS couldn't be bothered to do so. I really doubt much thought went into the inclusion of the Viles and Frontier bey...

Re: Finally beat it.

So Ubi improved the localization of the game. Okay, noted. Concerning the pink hair, though... I guess it can make sense for the big reveal scene, but then why does Luna look so much like the traditional image of Althena in her human form prior to being restored at all? What decided the difference b...

Re: Finally beat it.

Well, then, Ubi passing up on the opportunity to go over the particulars of the friction between the humans and beastmen was a wasted opportunity. If they knew enough about the universe's history to be aware of the fantastic racism, then they had to know that a large percentage of the fanbase would ...

Re: Finally beat it.

The problem with that theory is that the Vile Tribe is already banished there before the start of this game. Even if the world of Lunar changes to some degree between Silver Star and Eternal Blue, I can't see this as anything but a contradiction on L:DS's part.

I found them both very difficult at times. It helps that the dev team tooks teps to ensure that you can never simply power level your way to an easy victory.

Re: Finally beat it.

Haha, you see, I have no further interest in narrowing the divide between Alunis and myself. Everything I say or do is met with derision from her, no matter what it is. Does she put her disagreement nicely or even try to work out a middle with me? No, of course not. I'm just wrong about everything e...

...Okay, I'm being a bit snippy. From what I can tell, you don't have any other moods concerning things you don't agree with. Of course you didn't like it. I was the one who linked it. Re: Finally beat it.

It doesn't fit in with Lunar's story, though. In fact, it commits several continuity violations that directly go against what Silver Star, Eternal Blue, and even Walking School all say. The text LP even goes to great lengths to explain how it doesn't fit with the estalbished Lunar continuity. Camel ...

I think I prefer the text one. A lot more opportunity for the person making it tear the game a new one.
