Re: Speedpaint: 4 hours "No, get back! Get away! One more step and you die!"

Wow, this looks great, Nobi. Though I suppose I could quibble a little with the character design, since that's the SSS outfit with the TSS dialogue and setting. =) I love this interpretation of the scene, though.

Re: Speedpaint: 2 hours "Goodbye Hiro. I will always love you..."

Well, good for you for trying new techniques! (Sorry if that sounds patronizing, coming from someone who doesn't really draw/paint herself. I don't mean it that way; I'm trying a different knitting technique and results are less than perfect, shall we say.) Even your practice pieces are well worth s...

Re: Speedpaint: 2 hours "Goodbye Hiro. I will always love you..."

Nobi, I couldn't see the image without right-clicking and viewing image. In case that's a board problem rather than a me problem, I edited the link in. Feel free to remove if you don't want it there. Regarding the picture, I like it! Looks like a good exercise for lighting and shadows. On that point...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Haha, I saw that SM/LttP randomizer on AGDQ last year and couldn't decide whether I'd love or hate it. I do usually 100% both those games when I play them, but I'm no expert and probably would have major issues with doing some things out of order.

Ack! Sorry, i didn't mean to leave you out of that list!! There's also ShadowAce, who showed up here now and again (MagicEmperorNash on the WDMB). Anyway, good to see you. How's the art going?

Re: Re-played SSSC, again

Yeah, that list of Lann actions doesn't include things like looking at the fish outside and the teeth in the village chief's house because they're not related to Jessica's presence or absence. The specific action that triggers being able to get the bromide is returning to the village from the island...

Re: Re-played SSSC, again

Okay, here's the Lann summary. This only covers the first time you go there, but there isn't much that changes later in the game, as you probably know. To maximize text (including setting the flag to get Jess’s Bromide 2), when you first enter Lann: Talk to everyone (and examine the boat) before ent...

Re: Re-played SSSC, again

Sorry, the Silver Darts are in the SSH demo, not SSSC. I have my notes for the two games combined since so much of them is the same. The Trial Cave people only change their lines a couple of times (after finishing the trial and when Mia is in the party, and the spelunking wizard has a new line after...

Re: Re-played SSSC, again

Sure, here's some more info about the Meryod folks. Unfortunately, since you don't have the Wings most of the time that there's text updated, if you want to see it all you have to keep hoofing it through that Forest, which is pretty ouchy in SSSC. I finally remembered to keep Nash's bow and Jessica'...

Re: Re-played SSSC, again

0) Yes, WD didn't find out exactly what the trigger was to get that bromide until after the guide was printed. They had the directions in the Tips and Tricks section of their website back in the day. I'm not sure if the guide mentions that you need to pay off Ramus's 30s debt at the beginning of the...

Re: Sleeping passengers on Hispaniola

Weird, that should be possible. There are a couple of flag errors the following day (where we only get the second line of someone's dialogue without the first line), but there's text in the Saturn version for the sleepers. Maybe whatever messed it up in the iOS version also is a problem in the Satur...

Thanks, I'll check the spreadsheet of item names that I sent to the programmer long ago. I might've typoed it myself.

Re: Saturn vs. PlayStation

That's what I've heard as well... that the Saturn was designed to do 2D stuff and then late in development someone decided it had to do 3D because that was the wave of the future, and really pushed for 3D games on it. I feel like the White Dragon Cave may have been more animated in the background in...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Zelda Ocarina of Time, in Japanese, on GameCube. I've been wanting to replay that game lately (and particularly needed a distraction recently), and I know it well enough to not need to be able to read it, though I can make out a few phrases here and there. My husband, who has been keeping up with st...

Yes, thanks, Alan! I'm always happy to have another bit of information for my Lunar files. ^_^ I will have to listen to track 63 next time I play the game...whenever that is.

Re: LUNAR series Clay figure

Hello! I have seen your tweets about the figures from accounts I follow -- I was amazed that Mr. Iwadare retweeted them! I don't read much Japanese but I will follow you for more news. A question: Alex has green eyes, and this was important in the first Lunar game on Megadrive CD. Do you think your ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

For some reason I decided to play the Zelda Oracles games. Probably because my husband just finished Link's Awakening (in Japanese, to practice reading) and I felt like solving some puzzles. I really hope these get a similar treatment to LA someday. The translation could definitely use a polish and ...

Re: TSS: Save State Hacking, Debug Mode, and Level Data

Interesting. I really wish I knew what was going on internally with that.

Curious, do you also pick up wind essence for the same purpose? I hate to say how long it took me when I first played the game (in the mid-late 90s) to notice that that's what it did...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

He meant remake as opposed to the SegaCD game. A lot of people referred to the Saturn game as EBR before it was released in the US as EBC.
