Release date

Post by danth »

I don't know how good GameStop's info is, but they told me yesterday (June 14) that Lunar DS would be out in September. This contradicts the info I've seen online (July 25 in the US and August in Japan).
I want to go back.

It could be an error, but the game was announced with an August release date in Japan, so a lot of people were inclined to believe it would be delayed until after that here.

September 20th, eh?

Expect it in September or October. It's very unlikely that it'll be out here in July. The announced date is likely an error (one of several) that no one has bothered to update yet. KF

September 20th I believe is the correct date. That's what GameSpot, GameFAQs, etc. have and the original July date was announced that way. I believe they pulled it from Ubi's PR, so I'm pretty sure 9-20 is the correct date now. I'd say that it's likely to make it too on those dates for both the US and Japan, as all the news I've seen says it's 90% finished development-wise.

Well, if I'm lucky the Nintendo DS will drop a bit in price before then.
I want to go back.

September/October sounds reasonable. You generally need a couple months after the 90% phase to go through testing and Nintendo approval, then another month for manufacturing, so September sounds very likely.

I wouldn't count on the DS dropping in price though. If we're lucky we might see a drop around the Christmas season to spur shoppers, but not before then. The handheld's less than a year old. It's too early for one now.

september is a lot sooner that I had worried it might be for a while-never!

I mean I know there have been a few questionable elements to it, but bottom line new lunar is just....awesome?!

haha and I'm totally stoked dragon song was chosen it was the only title I liked.

September/October eh?

Excellent.

I shall get the Nintendo DS for my birthday and save myself a lot of money.

When i reserved a copy of it i thought it was going to be out in july. I was counting down the days, then they crushed my dreams. Those... i won't say it, it is too mean.

I'm pretty sure that the DS, like the GBA, is universal since the screen is attached. The only reason that console games aren't international is because of the different NTSC and PAL formats that televisions require.
