I'm just wondering, but does anyone here post frequently at other forums?
If so, which ones?

Are they much different from here?

I'm just wondering, because for a few years I've been trying to post at suikosource.com, a Suikoden fansite, but it's just so aggravating that I can only post once or twice before getting angry and leaving (a lot of other people are like that too at these forums). Most of the mods there are serious jerks, they lock just about half the topics out there, citing that said topic has already been posted or it's in the wrong area. It's humiliating and they all act like they know ALL when it comes to Suikoden... so if you already KNOW everything, why even start a forum?

I'm just super peeved this time because I posted there a year ago about my True Wind Rune tattoo (it's from the game, and it's right on my hand). And I just found out now that they deleted my topic without even telling me, or asking me, because they said my (real) tattoo is fake. This is what some mod just posted today in response to someone asking where my old topic was:

That wind one was a fake, just to let you know. ROFL, it wasn't even red.

I'm pretty sure there's already a topic devoted to this. Let me find it.

EDIT: never mind, we got rid of it due to the above reason. I guess if anyone has any real ones, it's cool to keep this one open.

I used to post at GameFAQs. And I can tell you that there are jerks like that everywhere. YTMND has what I consider to be the worst forum I've ever seen. Everyone there is somehow an idiot and arrogant at the same time. It's also horribly racist. I know about this forum because I asked that sites on YTMND making fun of a kid who killed himself be removed.

I have been on many forums and here are the type of people you encounter at those types of forums:

Kingdom Hearts Forums: 85% of the members are idiots with an IQ of 2 (not to mention quite a lot of them are annoying spammers). 10% Are smart people you can have good conversations with. 5% are -Albino Baboon- just because they can be.

Xenosaga Forums: Members of Xenosaga forums are very nice and 98% of the time there are intelligent conversations. It is extremely rare to find an idiot/spammer at a Xenosaga Forum

Anime Forums: It's a mix of good people, mean people, stupid people, and spammers.

Final Fantasy Forums: 90% of members are freaking annoying Final Fantasy VII fan boys/fan girls. 10% are the people who aren't obsessed about Final Fantasy VII and pay more attention to some of the better final fantasies, like Final Fantasy IV. Classic game.

LunarNET is the site I post at most frequently (no surprise there, of course). The only other Lunar board I frequent is the Shrine to Ghaleon board; I rarely check the LunarHope LunarBBS anymore, since there's not much activity there.

For the other boards, I post at Ricebowl Journals, which is the forum an Asian blogging community, and Waves in the Black, which is the main forum for the Serenity tabletop RPG (based on the Firefly series and Serenity movie). I'll intermittently post at Fireflyfans.net, though I haven't checked there in a few months now.

I never put up with a board that has idiot admins. Shrine to Ghaleon has a smaller community so there's little problems there ('cept for the occasional robot invasion). Waves in the Black and Fireflyfans.net have few problems, since the admins there are extremely inconspicuous and do their job of regulating the forums with little fuss. And Ricebowl Journals, while it has a lot of traffic, has some very good admins who are great at keeping things flowing nicely over there. KF

Actually I normally aviod the whole forum thing altogether... though after reading the posts for a few months here before I joined it really helped reassure me that this board was not like every other one (you know... the know it alls, the elitests, the morons, and the jerks... did I forget anyone?). I very much enjoy it here. ^^

I have to say (a bit off topic) that your tattoo is awesome! I can't believe they claimed it was fake... I mean it's obvious from the picture that, that is no "painted-on and/or photoshopped" tattoo.

I post at this forum the most! But I'm also apart of the NiGHTS into Dreams forums, and and a few others. The NiGHTS forums is a lot of fun, they're all goofy and really creative over there. It's pretty easy to get along with the admins too.

I spend most my time managing and running my .hack// site (medievil meets digitial). I uses a widely immensed RPG System that every user on it has to go through in order to establish their characters so they can start roleplaying. Thats the primary focus of the site, however over the past years we've opened up to other intrests such as discussion on anime and games in general, discussion about anything else off subject, blogs for each user, gallery and photo uploading, shopping, but for the most part people tend to stick around for the game. I rarely noticed anyone sticking around just for discussing offtopic bit. The stafff tends to get a bit nitpicky but its all usually ends up being revolved peacefully with everyone.

I kinda know what you mean actually. I mainly lurk everywhere but here now, but I have a hard time joining another forum if I don't have something to say. It's too hard to become a regular at a forum where you don't know many people.

That said, this is the forum I post at the most by far, but I do lurk and occassionally post at Shrine to Ghaleon, RPGFan and the revived WDMB.

Oh, and Alayna, that's extremely petty to delete someone's posts by claiming their tatoo is fake. I'd never bother with the site again if they pulled that.

Yeah, I was super pissed, because we had a big flame war on the forum and she said if my tattoo was "real" it would've been red and would've hurt a lot, and since it didn't hurt (It really didn't hurt at all, it barely bled, it was awesome) I must've been really doped up.

And I'm straightedge, so I was REALLY offended by that.

Then people from the forum jumped on my side and said that the admins there ARE jerks, etc etc... and then she wrote me a PM apologizing

I actually join lots of fourms but near post in them! That's partially due to that I'm actually quite shy and get neverious sometimes even though its only a computer. (I know that's kind of pathethic...)

Let's see...actually only 2 place on the net are graced with my presence of actually posting in a forum. Those two are:

This site: This was like...my first forum. I love everyone here. Almost everyone (meaning everyone but the occasional spammers) here are really nice and intellegent and don't post crap like 'OMG FInal fantasy 7 is teh bomb!!111!1111!11!1!'.

http://www.khforums.com (I go by kuro-kaze on there): There are WAY too many people on KHU. I hardly post actual forums anymore. The only place I really post there anymore is in my clan, Dragons of Destiny. Almost everyone there is friendly. We do a lot of RPing in our clan.

The only other forum I'm active at right now is GameFAQs. And even then I only really post on the Growlanser boards because (1) I like most of the regulars there, (2) they're pretty much the only active English-language boards I know of dedicated to the Growlanser games and, (3) I'm involved (as an editor) in the translation project for Growlanser I that's taking place on said board. As for the rest of GameFAQs, it's full of morons, trolls, etc. so I just avoid it now.

Other forums I've been active at include the defunct lunareb.com, and the WDMB (though I haven't been motivated enough to register for the revived version despite lurking there occasionally). I've also been a member of a few short-lived boards, but I can't remember the exact names.

In my mid-days of my internet rampage, I found myself registered to so many forums, it wasn't even funny. Most notable was Lunareb.com and WDMB. I lurked on the WDMB, and I joined Lunareb.com a bit after Lunar-net, thinking I would make friends. However... that wasn't the case. In nearly all of the message boards I've been too, I ended up going from active to lurking, to not even visiting (and so far, I've forgotten nearly all of the boards I was ever registered too.) The reasons are like many, Jerks, Moderator Jerks, and Admin Jerks (or just plain old lost intrest.)

In any event, I visit here the most, though as any old timer members can tell you, I've settled down alot in my postings. At least I think I have... hmmmm... well, anyway. The next forum I post dailey is one that I operate myself. I am in a guild on the game Star Wars Galaxies, and being a co-founder of the guild (which is getting pretty old) I decided we needed a message board. I have a staff that consists of the other co-founders, but I am the only admin. Sure, it's not like here, as we double post and get off topic pretty fast, but there isn't any issues either, and being a guild message board, it works out. Of course, I normally find myself moving topics now and then, and without warning, but I never delete and even made a pinned topic and even made it part of my FAQ on why their message might not be where they left it. I say, just look around, if it isn't there, then it's because I had to move it .

This is the only board I post at. I read Starmen.net's boards, questionablecontent.net's boards, and occasionally check a now-dead AOL board for Sonic Games... just in case.

G1 and Lunartic have it... it's more shyness than anything... delving into a community is tough. And I don't want to spend a significant portion of my time posting... ^^;;;

I used to post at SuikoSource before it was SuikoSource, back when it was BlueMoon's site. Most of the turdlings weren't there yet, I think this was around when Suikoden 2 came out or sometime after, totally into it. Just awesome threads all around.

But I hate most of the forums now. Everyone thinks there super cool and they all try to be super intelligent. Now I gotta back up my claims when I make a post? "Please Provide a Link Next Time, This Thread is Locked." It gets so irritating, I don't even want to go online anymore. I'm a simple person, I don't need to get into these thousands of details on writing a damn post. I just want a simple discussion, you freaks. ROAR.
