It would take a long time to do a comprehensive tour of the series and everything that follows it. But you can get a small glimpse at the storyline timeline at http://www.lunar-net.com/timeline.php. Might help to place the games as you're playing them. Some vital Lunar information: the original games were on the Sega CD many years ago. Most people still regard them as the best, but will concede that the Saturn/Playstation remakes are great games in their own rights. Many fans will dog Lunar Legend, but if it were the only Lunar game you had played, the story would still stick out. There is also a gaiden that was released on the Sega GameGear and remade on the Saturn, but neither version made it to North America. Lunar: Dragon Song (Lunar Genesis in Japan) is the newest entry in the series, after about a decade of nothing more than remakes. It's a welcome edition, but some are still holding their breath until it's released.
