nautical themed music

Post by exigence »

Im getting kinda bored with my CD collection lately, feelin like I need to listen to some like ocean themed music or like some surf rock, like ween's "the mollusk" or the pixies "bossa nova" maybe some of the ventures. can you guys think of any fresh ocean music, I've had a hard time trying to get search engines to understand the vibe of music. makes it damnnear impossible to find ocean themed cds with google or amazon recomendations.

You could bring your guitar into the bathroom and rock out while repeatedly flushing the toilet.

The Mariner's Revenge Song by the Decemberists is pretty good.

It's off the album Picaresque, which is really good in general.

there are some songs by buckethead that are somewhat relaxing. NO JORDAN DOES NOT COUNT AS A RELAXING SONG!

I'll never be able to do that on GH2. I could probably play the first half with my eyes closed, but the crazy part is just that. frickin' nuts. I feel like picking up the nearest object that'll make a satisfying noise and throw it. I could see myself eventually playing Fire and Flames, but not that.

xD 10 points!

I dunno, I'm a fan of Wish You Were Here by Incubus... I'm pretty sure it does not qualify as nautical themed music, but I do think it qualifies as beach music.

The Alchemy Index: Vol. 2: Water by Thrice. The theme is pretty self-explanatory. Good soundtrack music that is water-like is Master and Commander. David Gilmour's On an Island is more like Jimmy Buffet meets Pink Floyd, but it still always reminds me of the water.
This is my signature. It is a work of art.

Oh! I can't believe that I didn't mention this earlier: the theme to the Monkey Island series.

I'm a fan of the Water portion of the Alchemy Index, I have to say that it's quite relaxing.

I'll listen to it while falling asleep. It's good for that.

Listen to Ahab.

They're Moby Dick themed and it sounds like the desolate sea is claiming your life.
