Dragon Quest IX Swims the Pacific

Post by Vyse of Arcadia »

Finally! And pretty soon, too. I was beginning to think that we'd never get to play Dragon Quest IX over here. The series has given me reason to be pessimistic in the past.

Pretty excited 8-)

But I have to say I am moreso excited for Dragon Quest VI. Nostalgia and all, was one of the first games I played over emu back in the day...

I can't wait for both of them. Here's hoping that the accents aren't unbearable. They were pretty bad in IV but it wasn't unplayable.

Oh, jeez, I had almost forgotten about that. And it didn't help that they made the first two or three chapters stupid easy. I wonder if they same people who handled VIII's localization, one of the best I've ever seen in any game ever, also crafted the cringe-inducing dialogue of IV.

I hope they keep the difficulty in tact for both VI and IX. (Actually, from what I've read, I hope they make IX harder.) IV was pretty heavily dumbed-down, and V was better but still not to the level it was on the Super Famicom.

Ooh, coming up so soon. I'm just finishing up DQV and might have to work through the rest of these before diving into it.

I'll likely pick it up. I enjoyed DQ8, even if some of the dungeons were annoyingly long.
