Oh, right, I knew there was something I meant to mention here... I heard about this a few days ago.

Hmmm... I was just glancing through the article and looking at the pictures, but it looks interesting. What kind of game is it? The screens make it look like it could... possibly... be an adventure game. That would be cool.

I haven't looked through the story/screens, but in case it's not included, here's the press release text:

Intense Action-Adventure Game Will Transform Players into Crime-Solvers

San Mateo, CA - Feb. 26, 2009 - Nintendo DST owners will be challenged to help save the world with their fingertips in the upcoming game, Miami Law, set to be published by Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT. Scheduled for release in June 2009, Miami Law contains explosive action, as well as crime-scene investigation, which players will use interchangeably to help save the city of Miami.

"Miami Law has a great mix of up-tempo action and mind-challenging forensic investigation that players will absolutely love," said Mike Pepe, Director of Marketing at Hudson Entertainment. "The unique game design will turn the DS into both an action-adventure experience and a crime scene lab all-in-one."

Miami Law is an action-adventure game packed with all of the ingredients of a prime-time TV show: an intricate storyline with a shadowy terrorist conspiracy, furious shoot-outs in abandoned warehouses, challenging crime-scene detective work and more. Players will have many opportunities to choose their path and change the story - either as the intense Law Martin from the Miami PD or the brainy Sara Starling from the FBI. Players will be presented with different challenges depending on which character they pick - playing as Sara will feature a puzzle-based, mystery solving element, whereas playing with Law will thrust the player into the action, often into car chases or shoot-outs where taking out the bad guys is the only way to get results. Unlockable extras, including Texas Hold 'Em Poker and Sudoku, are included to take the pressure off players when the tension gets thick.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of dividing a game into action and adventure segments. I know that some adventure games back in the day did it with varying degrees of success, but I'm still not sure. I will definitely buy this though regardless of what reviews say. I'm always interested in an adventure game for the DS. (I still never bought Hotel Dusk though... I feel guilty)

Hmm. This looks ver interesting. I my just have to look into getting this one. I don't think dividing the game into sections will effect the quality or the level of fun overall as long as its fairly well done.

So wait, it isn't even being published under the Gaijinworks banner?

Not much of a comeback, Vic. :P

Still, it's a start. I hope it means they've got bigger things in the works.

If all he/they did was the text localization, it probably wouldn't be. WD did translations for a couple of games published by Hudson (I think?) back in the day and I'm sure that, well, Hudson was the publisher, not WD.

Yep, Dungeon Explorer II. I think the other games they worked on wound up not being published or released, but supposedly Elfaria was finished.
