Agreed, I couldn't stand the music. They butchered so many of the good songs from the SSSC Soundtrack. Especially the song played when you enter the Meribia Sewers.TheRadicalAusa wrote:What annoys me is how the music always cracks and stuff, like Meribia, which was nothing but cracks in the music.

*cough cough*
As for the music, I didn't have too many issues with it, I was just happy they where able to put it into a cart, you know?

I have to agree with the poor dialog... they made everyone speak... well, terribly. I recall being annoyied at Ghaleon's lack of inteligent dialog (as he is supposed to have...), and Nash and Mia's much more simple dialect as well, I felt the need to bang my head against a wall when I read
"Sorry y'all"
Sorry y'all??? GAHH!!! Never, never, NEVER in his right mind would that have ever come out of his mouth...

Unfortunately most companies that take the time to translate games are looking for the easy way out, or they simply have horrible writers. While Lunar Legend was a nice ode to the full fledged version it was definitely the no frills edition. Lunar without excellent music, voice acting, and cinematics just doesn't cut it. Look at Dragon Song, it was missing all of that and more.
As much as a Lunar Legend 2 would be cute, GameArts needs to concentrate on a real sequel to Lunar that is worthy of the series name. I know I definitely want a sequel but if I have to settle on a prequel then I'm all for it as long as it is done right.

Ah! I recently got the first Lunar: Legend (okay, actually, I got it a long time ago, but just recently started playing it on a vacation, so sue me) while the translation annoyed be at first in the beginning of the game, I began to get used to it and be able to tolerate it enough to play through it. I mean, it's still Lunar, after all. Aw, I think a Lunar: Legend 2 would be great! It's really fun to play Lunar on the go, ya know? I'd like a Lunar: Legend 2 eventually, but if I could choose, I would get a Lunar sequel or prequel first.

To give UbiSoft some fair credit, occasionally they will be faced with programming constraints on translation--i.e., they have to fit the translated sentence into just 1-2 boxes, and so they have to truncate and cut out some stuff. Also, the translation content of Lunar: Dragon Song was actually quite good and accurate. The only thing that DS really needed was A) proofreading, and B) someone to check consistency.
There were people around who would have been willing to do both. I'm not going to mention names but there were, and I'm sure that UbiSoft was well aware of that. But in the time they had to get the product out, and what I'm sure was a rather tiny budget, they did what they could, even though it was rushed and a bit shoddy. KF

We should give Lunar to Naughty Dog games :3
Just Kidding... even though I DO love Naughty Dogs work...
In all seriousness, I'd say that Square-Enix should take over. They've DONE drawn games before... Chrono Cross and Xenogears are WONDERFUL examples of it.
Either that, or if they took the 3-D approach (which would be AWESOME by the way, just keep drawn cutscenes) they should put it in the style of Kingdom Hearts. Its PERFECT. I can certainly imagine a 3-d Nall following you everywhere! XD

I dont think square should take over. If not it would be an over the top project like a ff game. I think it should be kept simple like typical boy saves girl and saves the world story. But I wouldnt mind a move to 3D but I would like capcom to do the grapichs for a 3D game. In vain the of the game "The Misadventures of Trone Bonne" Simple graphics but the colors makes it looks very animeish, And when ever they speak a FULL character portate comes out with spoken dialog.

Oh hell no. Keep Square out of it, Gamearts made the game just fine by themselves, they don't need any help from the likes of Square-Enix. As for 3D, I'm still split on that.Amethi wrote:In all seriousness, I'd say that Square-Enix should take over.

Ewww noo way!!! I can't stand Kingdom Hearts style!! Maybe Chain of hearts, but still! I think it should be kept the normal Lunar way, even though Chrono Cross is a magnificient game.Amethi wrote:We should give Lunar to Naughty Dog games :3

I used to play it in class too, instead of doing my classwork. It was great.Zhane Masaki wrote:Hope your teachers didn't confiscate the GBA. Re: Lunar Legend 2?
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I agree in that S-E should not be given control of Lunar. If Lunar WERE to be made into 3D, I'd go more with the DQ8 engine. That game is still pretty to look at
Off hand, I actually enjoyed Lunar Legend. Yeah, a good many things are missing but, like another post just said, its fun to play on the road. I also think the battle graphics in this are what the remakes of both Lunars SHOULD have looked like!

If they did come out with a Remake of EBC I would buy it. Lunar EBC was my very first Lunar game and by far my favorite.
It would be nice to be able to drag it everywhere with me!
