Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
Random question, but has anyone else actually bought a PSP for the sole purpose of this game?
Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
Me, kinda. It was the same justification as I bought a DS because a Lunar was being developed for it...*sigh*. But, I was specific. I wanted a PSP that I could hack so I could emulate my old games on it. I did that, and it was worth it.

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
I am actually borrowing a PSP to play SSH. But if they do release a Eternal Blue remake for PSP I will probably buy one then.

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
I asked for one as an Xmas present, and of course it had to be Mystic SILVER. Of course I wanted it solely for Lunar, same as when I bought the original model DS just for Dragon Dung.

I got a used PSP2000 while I was in Tokyo just to play this.
I may pick up a few other games on down the road. Castlevania Chronicles looks interesting. KF

Castevania Chronicles: Dracula X you mean? It's a very nice game, and you get Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as an unlockable

That's the one. I never played SotN either. KFSilver Phoenix wrote:Castevania Chronicles: Dracula X you mean? It's a very nice game, and you get Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as an unlockable

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
OMG, shame on you! SOTN is an amazing game, simply for the soundtrack alone. I have the Japanese Saturn version which allows you to play as Alucard, Richter and Maria with added music and areas. You can only play as Alucard and Richter in the PS/PSP version, but it's a fantastic game.
The remade Dracula X is awesome on it's own. It's a shame that they don't release console versions of amazing handheld games.

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
Can't say I've ever purchased a system just to play one game. The PSP is a fine system though. You shouldn't have any problems finding other games you like...such as Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles Its probably my most played PSP game next to Disgaea.
edit: Just wanted to add...Maria was put into the PSP version of SotN. I think once you beat the game as Alucard, just type in her name at the name selection screen. She plays like an updated version of RoB Maria.

I wasn't sure if they added her or not, but I'm assuming she plays exactly the same as in the Saturn version. Both her and Richter are available from the start though (I think Richter is, but I know Maria is), no need to unlock in the Saturn game.

In the Saturn version you can indeed pick from three characters at the beginning. And the PSP SotN Maria was redone with a new sprite and move set (Rondo-like, as whitedragon_nall said).Silver Phoenix wrote:I wasn't sure if they added her or not, but I'm assuming she plays exactly the same as in the Saturn version. That's what Wikipedia tells me anyway. I don't own the game, though I'd like to. I got interested in the PSP because of the Rondo of Blood remake, but it took Lunar to make me go out and buy one.

Got a PSP for this and FFT, but my PSP library's gotten big either way.
Hoping for Eternal Blue!

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
Lunar seems to have that ability for us fangeeks. I haven't played my Saturn copy in so long that I had forgotten, but thanks for checking as I thought I was right. I've only played CC:DX but don't own it myself. I'll have to pick up a copy to check out the pimped out Maria. I wonder how they changed her moves, because originally doing Street Fighter-esque moves would have her cast spells. Some were a pain to pull off. The game is worth it alone just to have 2 games in 1.Shiva Indis wrote:In the Saturn version you can indeed pick from three characters at the beginning. O____O...Saying that in front of me just made part of me die on the inside. You need to play SotN!!! D:Kizyr wrote:That's the one. I never played SotN either. I highly recommend picking up Dracula X Chronicles! Both Dracula X (AKA Rondo) and Symphony are EXCELLENT games.
Of course, I may be a bit bias since the Castlevania series is almost tied with Lunar on how much I love it...*stares at her Castlevania themed avatar and signature*
Erm, but back to the original topic at hand, I bought my PSP for Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. So, I've had my PSP for a while now. On the other hand, I bought my DS for Lunar: Dragon Song. Even though I regret buying Dragon Song, I'm glad I have my DS for the Castlevania games and Pokemon Games.

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
I have Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia but I just can't get into it. Of course I barely got far into the game so I don't even have any abilities, and the weapons suck.
Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
I am borrowing a PSP from my little bros just to play this title.

Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
I'm borrowing my older brother's psp.
Re: Buying a PSP for Lunar SSH
Borrowing my sister's PSP haha. It's a little beat up though, she originally got it from a friend. I may end up buying my own PSP. Seems like it would be handy to have on an airplane to watch movies/listen to music and such. Also, there's supposed to be an upcoming .Hack game for PSP. I'm a .Hack slave.
