LUNAR Legend: Soundtrack guide?
I'm currently working on listing all the tracks in the music player to form a soundtrack listing for LUNAR Legend.

Re: LUNAR Legend: Soundtrack guide?
Wait, are you working a gamerip or a soundtrack listing?
I've just about finished comparing the GBA tracklist with the PS1 tracklist and labelling them accordingly.
Of the 65 songs in Legend, I'm having a problem identifying five of 'em, three of which I believe weren't on the PS1.
If you want to see the list as is, just let me know.

Re: LUNAR Legend: Soundtrack Guide
Track list's complete, and no, it didn't take me 10+ years to do it.
Forgot a lot of things (such as having an account here AND stating that I was working on this 10 years ago), but a podcast called "RPG Bookclub" kinda jogged my memory, so here I am to finish the job.
----
Track numbering is based on LUNAR Legend's in-game sound test (all presented in double-digits, for consistency's sake); anything not listed here can't be accessed through normal means or simply isn't in the game. Apparently, there's a bare-bones version of "Thoughts Far Away" attributed to this game that wouldn't sound too out of place on a 2nd-generation game console, but it's only several seconds long. I lack the means (and skills) to confirm this exists on the cart, but I figured that I should at least bring it up, just in case someone else does.
Track names were mostly taken from the PS1 ENG OST; ordering appears to have been similar to the Saturn's in-game soundtrack list, found here:
https://www.lunar-net.com/sssc/music.php
That being said, some additional notes regarding the sound test:
BGM 53 is a sped-up version of "Machinery", similar to the MIDI file found on the PC port.
BGM 59 plays during Alex's text-only opening monologue (I don't believe "Now the Story Begins" plays anywhere in the game, but that would require replaying this game just to make sure). It's also the last BGM playing, post-credits.
BGM 63 appears to be an original song. It plays during the game's "attract mode" ("A beam of light flutters down..." cutscene).
BGM 64 is the OPN version of "Wings". However, SFX/SOUND 93 is some kind of backing track of the same song. It may have been used in-game during the boat scene, but that moment is so quick, you never hear anything significant. You can, however, play both BGM and SFX tracks simultaneously via the sound test; what they were trying to accomplish with this is a mystery to me (maybe it could produce a richer sound?).
----
That's all for now. Here's the track listing:
00 Fighting Spirits

This is great btw, and for real given how old this site is, I don't think anyone's in a position to give you flak over getting back to something 10 years later.
......(I say looking in the mirror and feeling bad about never getting back to revising the non-game sections of LN.)

Yes, thanks, Alan! I'm always happy to have another bit of information for my Lunar files. ^_^ I will have to listen to track 63 next time I play the game...whenever that is.

Updated the list:
BGM 59 "LUNAR Theme Arranged" is actually "Beneath the Blue Star", as heard here:
https://youtu.be/vtXrJCP6O3o
Also, if someone happens to have a JPN copy of the game, could they verify something for me:
I could've sworn Luna had her in-battle singing ("La La La-La Laaaa~") on a JPN ROM of the game I played way back when. Either I'm misremembering things, or there have been more changes to the ENG port than just the script.

A bit late to the party, but wow, this is great! Thank you for doing that. I've always wondered which was which.

Hello Alunissage! I've been here and there, secretly lurking every few months or so. Mostly just focusing on family, work, and school. I do miss the old days though! Someday I'm going to play L:L through again. Maybe even make a comic or two for old times sake. Ha.
